“She won’t, though. She’s not very good at saying what she needs.”

“Then that’s something we need to work on,” Eliot told them both firmly. “But I am more than happy to give you a bottle, if that’s what you’d like, little one.”

Anna had regressed to around five or six. Similar to the age he thought Marcus’ Little might be. But he liked the idea of a younger Little to take care of.

“I don’t know what I like,” she confessed.

“So, we’ll explore that together. If this is something you both want to try.”

“We do,” Marcus said.

“Isla?” he asked.

“I do. Even though I’m nervous.”

“We can make spankings a hard limit,” he told her.

“True,” Marcus said thoughtfully. “That’s a good option. For both of us.”

Eliot raised his eyebrows. “Doesn’t mean that I can’t come up with other punishments if you break the rules.”

“Rules are made to be broken, though,” Marcus said with a cheerful grin. “That’s a law or something.”

“A law, huh? Well, just know that if you do break the rules, you will be punished. And if spankings are a hard limit, I’ll need to get creative.”

“Like what?” Marcus asked.

“Well, I already know you’re not fond of green vegetables.”

Marcus gasped, nearly falling off his seat. “You wouldn’t! That’s practically abuse. Green veggies are a hard limit, too.”

“You can’t make everything you don’t like a hard limit.”

“I dunno. I thought it was an excellent plan.”

“Hmm, well, I could just take away something you like. For example, your sweets and chocolate.”

“You wouldn’t be so cruel.” Marcus gaped at him.

“There’s also corner time, lines, chores, early bedtimes, just to name a few alternatives.”

“You know what? I don’t think spankings are a hard limit,” Marcus told him.

Eliot thought he might change his mind. But Isla, on the other hand, still wasn’t eating.

“Little one, it’s nothing to stress about. This isn’t meant to be scary. As your Daddy, it would be my job to take care of you. I’m not here to hand out discipline willy-nilly. I’m here to make sure you’re happy, supported, and that you feel secure to be yourself. Okay? So don’t stress. What Marcus might need might not be what you do.”

“All right,” she replied.

“So, would you like spanking as a hard limit? I can tell you’re worried.”

“Oh, I don’t think it’s a hard limit for her when it comes to you,” Marcus told him. “Although it is concerning how large your hands are. You could cover her ass with one of those and have room left over.”

Eliot shot him a look. “Marcus, no more talking for the next five minutes and eat half of those veggies.”

Both of them stared at him in shock.

But he meant it.

“You heard me. Eat. Quiet.” He turned to Isla. “Now, tell me what concerns you about spankings? Is it because you think I’ll go too far? That it will hurt too much? That it will be embarrassing?”

“You just… you told Marcus to be quiet for five minutes.”

“Yes. I did.”

“He’s never quiet. Unless he’s working.”

“He will be now, unless he wants to be punished.”

She licked her lips, looking concerned. “I don’t think he can do it.”

“Little one,” he said sternly, reaching out to touch her chin. “Worry about yourself right now.”

“I should be worried?”

“Not because I will harm you. If you think that, then perhaps we shouldn’t be doing this.” She needed to at least trust him a bit.

He was asking too much of her.

“I don’t think you’ll harm me,” she said quickly. “I wouldn’t have agreed to this if I did. But I’ve never done anything like this before. And I-I find it hard to trust people. My parents were… they were terrible people. They blamed me for everything that went wrong in their lives. It was my fault just for being born.”

Ahh, that gave him some insight to the way she thought. Her fear of messing up and apologizing for everything.

“That sounds awful. I’m sorry you went through that, honey.”

She looked away, as though she couldn’t believe she’d just confessed that.

“I don’t want you to feel pressured into anything. Or agreeing to something that makes you feel uncomfortable just because you think it’s something I want. Understand?”

“I understand.”

“Or because you think it’s what I want,” Marcus added.

Eliot turned back to the man. He understood his need to say something. But he’d been given an order.

“Has it been five minutes?”

“I dunno. I can’t really tell the time.” Marcus grinned.

Trouble. Definite trouble.

“I’ll deal with you later, young man. And you haven’t eaten your veggies. Eat. Now.”

“So sexy when you growl like a bear.”

Isla giggled at Marcus’ words.

“Oh, you think he’s funny, do you? When he’s a sassy brat?” He kept his voice light.

She nodded. “Uh-huh.”

“Because I’ve noticed that you’re not eating. At this rate, I’m going to have to feed you, then give you a bottle.”

Her eyes flared at the mention of the bottle. Seemed she did like that idea.
