Lark moaned softly. He couldn’t blame her. This was intimate and erotic. He lingered longer than necessary, stroking her fingers under the warm water before finally turning it off and reaching for the paper towels.
“I never noticed you to have an OCD tendencies, Daddy.” She lifted a brow as she twisted her neck to look up at him.
He chuckled. “We’re going to need clean hands for what I have in mind next.” He winked.
She giggled. “What is it, Daddy?”
“You’ll see.” He swooped down and picked her up, settling her on his hip to carry her back into the kitchen. He was well aware her naked pussy rested against his hip. It was hot.
“Wyatt. You can’t carry me. I’m too heavy.” She squirmed to get down.
Wyatt held her tight with one arm under her bare bottom and the other hand on her back. “Are you saying I’m not strong, kitten?”
She gasped. “I didn’t say that at all, Daddy.”
He slid his hand up between her shoulder blades and drew her face toward his for a brief kiss. “Humor your Daddy. Sometimes I’m going to want to carry you just like when we came into the house.”
She sighed as they entered the kitchen. “What’s my surprise, Daddy?”
He set her down on the blanket where they’d shared their picnic. “Sit, kitten.” He dropped down next to her and reached for another bag he hadn’t shown her yet, dragging it closer.
Watching her face, he pulled the large box out of the bag and set it between them. “It’s a celebratory treat. I thought we needed one after closing on the house.”
She grinned as her finger stroked the top of the box over the Little Cakes logo. “Surely this box isn’t full.”
Wyatt opened it to reveal the contents.
Lark gasped and lifted her gaze to his. “What on earth are we going to do with a dozen cupcakes?”
“Try them all and find out which ones are our favorites, of course.”
She laughed. “We’ll get sick.”
“Not if we just eat a bite of each of them.” He reached back into the bag and pulled out napkins and forks.
Lark clapped her hands together. “How fun!” She took a fork from him and leaned over the box. “Hmmm. I don’t know where to begin.”
Wyatt pointed at the one with the huge mound of blue frosting. “I figured you’d go right for this blue one.”
She shook her head. “No way.”
“Why not? You already know you won’t like it? Have you had this one before?” He was surprised.
She shook her head again, her eyes dancing with laughter. “Nope. I already know it will be my favorite, so I’m saving it for last.”
“Ah.” He chuckled and then snatched the fork out of her hand.
“Daddy,” she called out. “Why did you do that?”
“Because I think it will be more fun if I feed you.”
She rolled her eyes. “You can’t feed me.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m not a baby.” She sucked in a breath and bit into her bottom lip.
Wyatt shrugged. “You’re my Little girl though, and sometimes you’re going to have to humor me and let me feed you. It pleases me when you let me take care of you, kitten.”
She swallowed. “Okay, Daddy.”
If he wasn’t mistaken, the tips of her nipples were even harder when she shifted her weight, giving him a glimpse of them rubbing against his shirt. He was definitely going to dress her in his T-shirts and nothing else more often.
Snapping his fingers as he came up with yet another idea, he glanced around. It took him a moment, but finally, he spotted a roll of paper towels on the counter. He shoved to standing, headed toward the paper towels, and snagged them before returning.
“How messy do you think we’re going to be?” Lark asked. “We already have napkins.”
Wyatt unrolled four paper towels before tearing at the perforation. “These aren’t for wiping our lips, kitten.” He flattened the length of paper towels on the blanket between them and carefully folded one long side at three inches. After glancing at her, he folded it again and again until he had a long strip of paper towel in his hands.
“What the…”
Wyatt lifted it up. “Blindfold.”
Lark scrunched up her face. “You’re going to blindfold me?”
He was glad she didn’t look like she was panicking. “Yep. Trust me?”
She giggled as she glanced at the cupcakes. “And then you’re going to feed me delicious treats?”
“Yep.” He leaned over and settled the makeshift blindfold over her eyes before smoothing the roll around to the back of her head and tying it off. It wasn’t perfect, but it would work. “Can you see anything?”
She shook her head. “No, Daddy.”
“Good. Close your eyes just in case. No cheating. It won’t be any fun if you see what I’m feeding you.”
Her huge smile lit up his heart. His kitten was trusting him more every day. It warmed his heart.
