“Really?” she asked, her voice shaky with tears.

“Baby, yes. He’s going to need a scare put into him a time or two—I’m sure of it. Plus, I’d be pissed at you if you got all boring like Georgia, because then that would mean I’d have to get all boring like Kline. And you and I both know that’s just not our style.”

“You promise?” she asked, leaning back to meet my eyes.

“I swear it, honey.” I swiped the dripping tears from her cheeks with my thumbs. “So, what do you say we blow this ghost town and go do wild and crazy shit in New York? You know, where there are more people? We can prank the fuck out of our friends until the cows come home.”

“You really mean it?” she asked, and a hint of a smile crested her lips.

“Of course I really mean it.” I gently touched my lips to her forehead. “You’re my whole world. And ever since I said ‘I do,’ it’s my sole purpose in life to make you, Cassie Kelly—the baddest, hottest, sexiest, craziest woman I know—blissfully fucking happy. All day, every day, for the rest of forever.”

She smiled, and I gave her a soft kiss to her full lips.

“So, you’re not mad I had a bit of a pre-baby crisis and dragged us to Panama City Beach and got us strippers and made you do a wet T-shirt contest and—”

“Baby, I’m not mad,” I cut her off with a smirk. “Even though this trip was fucking bonkers, I still loved it because I was with you, my favorite person in the whole damn universe.”

She smiled at my words. “But now you’re ready to go home?”

I nodded. “Fluff yes, I am.”

“Okay, T-bag. Let’s do it. Let’s go home.”

Instantly, I breathed out a sigh of relief and pressed a smacking kiss to her lips.

Thank fuck. We’re going home.

“Honey, I’m home!” I called out as I stepped off the elevator and into the entryway of Cass’s and my apartment. “Where are you?”

“I’m in the living room waiting on you to bring me some food!”

I grinned, slipped off my shoes, and carried the bag of takeout from a small Italian joint up the street from our place.

When I walked into the living room, my gorgeous wife was sitting on the couch with Philmore curled up beside her, and she’d never looked more beautiful or perfect for me.

“Tell me those bags contain breadsticks and spaghetti and meatballs, and I’ll blow you tonight.”

Okay, I take that back. Now, she’s never been more perfect. I raised the bag in the air and smiled. “The Supercock is going to be incredibly happy.”

She clapped her hands. “Woo-hoo!”

I chuckled softly as I closed the distance between us and set the takeout on the coffee table, and my hungry wife didn’t waste any time grabbing her container filled with her newest craving from the bag.

I’d barely even sat down before she lifted a big bite of spaghetti toward her lips, and I smiled. Nothing made me happier than making her happy.

“Oh my gosh, it’s so good,” she said through a moan. “Gah. I swear, I could eat this every day for the rest of my life.”

We both knew full well she’d probably have a new craving by next week, but I didn’t bother disagreeing. After all, I fancied myself a man of some smarts.

Ever since Cass and I had gotten back from our insane trip to Florida a few days ago and she’d seemingly sorted out her irrational feelings about needing to change her crazy ways before our son was born, things had been going pretty fucking smoothly.

I hadn’t once felt the terror of wondering if my wife was going to cut off my balls with a kitchen knife, and it seemed as if a weight had been lifted off Cass’s shoulders.

Sure, she still bitched at me. Still busted my balls every day, but it wasn’t at the horrifying intensity I had been facing prior to our impromptu spring break/bachelor and bachelorette party/gender reveal party/ER fiasco/honeymoon.

Somehow, some way, all that crazy shit had only managed to make us stronger, happier, more relaxed.

And it also made me want to remind my beautiful, insane wife that I meant what I said. Being parents didn’t mean we had to change. Sure, we’d have a kid and we’d have more responsibilities, but we would always still be us.

A lot would change when our son was born, but at the same time, nothing would change.

We’ll still be Cassie and Thatch. We’ll still be wild and crazy and fluffing awesome.

And we’d still be the best fucking prank team that ever lived.

Which was exactly why, besides the Italian takeout, I’d managed to pick up one more thing on my way home.

“I got a surprise for you, honey.”

With a mouthful of spaghetti, Cass turned to look at me. “Whath ish ith?”
