My eyes flutter open to a mask covering my face, a black cat mask similar to mine, but with lace and little kitty ears, gems studded all over the eyes, along with a cute crystal button for a nose, complete with whiskers and all.

My lips part, but I don’t know what to say.

His glinting green eye and pearly whites find mine in the mirror. “You said only killing makes you feel better … So let’s kill.”

A bright grin forms on my lips, rivaling his. “What a sweet, sinful proposal. I’m in.”

MILO

That night

I close the buttons on my shirt and pull up my pants, zipping up before I put on my bulletproof vest. Can’t risk getting shot a second time.

When I’m done strapping in, I grab my white mask and march out the door with my bag. The car out front is being loaded up with equipment and stuff, and when I hop down the steps, they all look at me like they’re seeing a walking corpse.

“Hey, guys,” I say, waving as I casually place my gear into the trunk.

Nathan glares at me while clutching the passenger’s seat door. “What do you think you’re doing?”

“Coming with you,” I say with a beaming smile.

“I think the fuck not.” He slams the door shut. “You should be upstairs, resting.”

Kai closes the trunk door. “It’s not safe for you.”

“If it’s not safe for me, it’s not safe for you. So why are you going?” I raise a brow.

“Because she needs a kill,” Kai says, pointing at Lana, who sticks her head out the window.

“Are you sure you want to say that out loud?” she asks.

“It’s the middle of the night. No one’s listening,” Kai responds without looking at her.

Nathan’s gaze remains fixated on me, and he doesn’t seem too pleased.

“I don’t like it when you guys go without me,” I say.

“Milo, I don’t want you dying on me again,” Nathan says.

“I’ve got this vest.” I pluck at it to show it to him. “Won’t be dying anytime soon.”

Nathan makes a tsk sound. “That won’t keep the bullets out of your brain.”

“What bullets?” I retort, sporting my nunchucks. “Hit ’em in the head before they even try. Pow.” I flick them around.

Kai snorts. “You’re ridiculous.”

I resort to pouting. “Please.”

Kai rolls his eyes. “Fine.”

“What?” Nathan throws up his hand. “You can’t be serious.”

“Dead serious. He’s not gonna let this slide,” Kai says.

“Nope,” I add.

“It’s late, and we’ve already wasted enough time. Now get in.” Kai beckons me.

“Yes,” I say, and I grab his hand and high-five myself because I’m a hundred percent certain he wouldn’t do it, but I don’t mind. “Thank you!”

I hop into the back seat before Nathan can stop me even though he gets in on the other end of the vehicle. He folds his arms and throws me judgmental glances every once in a while.

“That went well,” Lana says, looking at us through the rearview mirror.

“Yes.”

“No.”

We both say in tandem.

And it makes her snort, hiding her laughter behind her hand.

Kai steps in too and shuts the door. “Let’s go.” He starts the car and races off the campus grounds within no time.

“So where are we going?” I ask casually.

Nathan looks out the window, agitated. “Nowhere.”

“Found an address on the site,” Kai says. “One of our old sock-puppets had bait.”

“One?” Lana parrots. “You mean to tell me you had multiple accounts?”

“You do what you have to if you need the money badly enough,” Nathan says.

“You just have one?” I ask Lana.

She shrugs. “I didn’t think I’d ever need another one. The requests just kept rolling in.”

“This is the place,” Nathan says, pointing at the old apartment building at the end of the street.

My heart rate is already picking up from excitement as Kai parks the car, and we all jump out.

I fish my bag from the trunk, and Lana puts on her mask, which looks awfully familiar. She takes off her coat, revealing the wetsuit underneath, which looks suspiciously like one of mine.

“Wait a damn minute,” I mutter, looking at Kai. “You raided my closet?”

He grins. “Had to give her something to wear while her clothes were wet.”

“You could’ve asked,” I quip.

“How could I when you were roped down in Nathan’s cage?” he retorts, making my cheeks flush with heat and my balls blue with the memory of unspent cum.

“Holy shit,” Lana says, her jaw dropped.

Nathan tips her chin up as he walks past her. “It’s not nice for ladies to stare.”

“Well, excuse me,” she scoffs.

“Granted,” Nathan says, a big old smile on his face when he sees her steam up behind him.

“Let’s go, guys,” Kai says, throwing his bag over his shoulder.

“Ready to murder some bitches,” Nathan says, raking his fingers through his blond hair, and he zips open his bag to take out his bat.

I grin as I follow them all inside. “Oh yeah, that’s what I’m talking about.”
