“A dad down here. Max was fucking his daughter. Seventeen.”

Jesus!

Heckler wasn’t done. “She turned seventeen a month ago.”

“What are you planning?” My tone was gritty because damn, this was not a good place to be in right now.

“We grabbed the dad. He says he’s got proof Max fucked her when she was sixteen, a day before her birthday. He could be a problem, but he says he won’t do anything more if we let him live.” He paused. “Most of the guys are with you, so I’m thinking it’s your call. Max is in a medically induced coma. What do you want us to do?”

Max was the national president. There was no question here.

“Get the proof, then kill him.”

KALI

I nursed one beer forever.

This was a full-fledged party, so no way would I be able to sleep.

Also, this was a full-fledged party, so no way was I going to get drunk. I didn’t care that Shane had said no one would mess with me if I told them I was with him.

Also, a full-fledged party and my sister was here, so another reason to say hell no to getting drunk.

So I nursed that beer like I was going to win a competition. With a cash reward.

But I was horny, because in the past few hours, I’d witnessed a lot of people getting some action—in the shadows and right out in the light. Hell, Machete had even gone inside and gotten a blanket for him and Claudia. Sure enough, a little while later there was movement under the blanket, and my sister couldn’t stop a few groans from slipping out.

Some motorcycles rode in about the time I felt ready to combust, and both guys stood up, which I was a little relieved about.

“Your man is back,” Claudia said.

With that, my horniness level went from a decent, steady five to a nine. A nine point five.

I might’ve been waiting for him. Maybe. I didn’t know if I wanted to admit that to myself. But as I watched the guys go over to meet with him… Even seeing him from a distance, I could feel him inside of me. Yeah. I’d been waiting for him.

God.

I wanted him. Now.

My need throbbed a deep, steady beat inside of me, between my legs, and I squirmed on the seat. This guy. What had he done to me? I couldn’t handle this.

My body was an inferno.

I remembered all the times—the motel, here, when he ate me out like I was Thanksgiving.

Machete came back, but he only held his hand out. Claudia took it, sending me a furtive look before he pulled her to her feet and led her inside.

Stripes hadn’t come back, but that didn’t matter. Shane was heading right for me. I knew the instant he saw me. My body went from inferno to active volcano. The rest of the party fled. It was him and me, and the way he was looking at me? It seemed like he was remembering Thanksgiving too.

“You’re back.” My voice came out raspy, and his eyes sharpened.

“You were out here alone?” he asked after observing me a moment.

“Machete, my sister, and Stripes were with me.”

He blinked slowly. “You talked with them the whole time?”

I was back to squirming because why were we talking? I shook my head. “Another guy came over and talked to Stripes, but that’s it. I didn’t care. This…” I waved at the party. “…is…” I didn’t know what to say. “It’s a lot to take in.”

His eyes sharpened again. “You okay?”

I nodded, my neck stiff, and I moved again, needing to adjust myself on the chair. I was restless. Wanting him. Needing him. Not knowing what to do about it.

He gave me a full once-over, and I licked my lips. I hadn’t meant to do it. It just happened, but then his gaze went from studying to dark and smoldering.

He held his hand out.

I took it. A tingle shot up my arm, and as he laced our fingers, that tingle morphed into a sizzle.

He led the way to the barn.

I looked back once and saw Shelly standing not far from where we’d been, watching us. She gave me a small smile before turning back to the house.

Once we were back inside the room where we’d been sleeping, the closed door muted all the sounds. They didn’t go away, but they became nice background music, along with the buzzing in my body.

Shane stared at me, not moving to remove his cut, his guns. “You drunk?”

I felt like it. “No.” My pulse pounded even stronger, filling my entire body. I pushed out my tits, not thinking about it until his gaze fell to them. He didn’t look away, not for a long time.

I couldn’t breathe. I tipped my head up, falling back against the door. I was almost panting. How embarrassing was that?
