I bite back a smile. “I’m the one who wants to look at you.”
“You make me feel beautiful,” she whispers.
“You are beautiful.” I catch her chin in my hand. “You don’t doubt that, do you?”
It pains me to think that this breathtaking woman could question her beauty. She’s not only drop dead gorgeous. She’s brilliant, accomplished, and from what I’ve witnessed, she’s pretty damn adventurous.
Catching her in the princess gown at midnight is proof of that.
She gazes down at her nude body before her eyes catch mine again. “I like the way I look. I love every part of me.”
“You should.” I trail a path down her arm with my index finger. “You’re the most striking woman I’ve ever met.”
Her eyes narrow. “You’re not just saying that because of the great blowjob, are you?”
“Great?” I shake my head. “Fucking amazing, and no. It has nothing to do with the sex, Abigail. You’re a natural beauty, and you need to know that a big part of why I’ve got this massive crush on you is that you’re a remarkable person.”
“I am pretty kick ass,” she admits.
“Even though you did steal my shoes.”
She taps her palm on my bare shoulder. “I returned them right away. That counts for something, right?”
“Sure.” I lean back. “It counts, but I haven’t quite finished with your punishment for taking them in the first place.”
“More punishment.” Her hand drops to her core. “Does that mean what I think it means?”
“Sit on my face.” I glide my tongue over my bottom lip. “Now.”
I watch Abby get dressed. It’s near midnight, and even though I want to insist she spend the night, I know she’ll refuse.
“I never answered your question from earlier,” I say.
That lures her gaze to me. I’m back in the jeans I wore earlier but haven’t bothered with a shirt.
Her eyes skim my bare chest, landing on one of my tattoos. “Well, I’m waiting for that answer. Is there a secret class on how to go down on a woman? If there is, you should be teaching it.”
Chuckling, I drop my head to hide the wide grin on my face. I love knowing that she feels that way about me.
I should tell her I’m referring to the question she asked about Kalina’s lawyer, not the one she muttered when I was eating her out.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” She laughs. “No wonder women talk about you after they’ve…”
My head snaps up. “What women? After they’ve what?”
She looks like a deer caught in the headlights, and I instantly know that the vulnerability in her expression isn’t just there because I put her on the spot. There’s more to this.
“It’s nothing,” she says as she bends down to pluck her blouse from where it landed on the floor.
“It’s something.” I close the distance between us with wide steps.
By the time I’m in front of her, she’s trying to button the blouse with shaking hands.
I reach for both to cradle them in mine. “Tell me.”
Her gaze latches on my face. “Please drop it.”
“No.” I surprise myself with that, but I don’t want to let this go. “Explain what you said. What women talk about me?”
She tugs her hands free. I only let her so I can button her blouse.
Her gaze drops to watch my every move.
“Abby,” I coax her. “Please.”
“Women you’ve slept with talk about you at work,” she whispers. “I’ve heard about what you’re like in bed.”
I cringe. “Fuck.”
“I’ve heard it in the break room more than once.” She sighs. “Also, two women were talking about you in the elevator one day.”
She should have never been subjected to that, but I’ve fucked women I’ve met at work and women I’ve crossed paths with in the lobby.
When I was in the mood for release, I’d generally gravitate toward whoever showed interest. I’m not proud of that, but I was on the hunt for one night of fun and didn’t put a lot of thought into the lingering consequences of that.
“I’m sorry,” I say with sincerity.
Her eyes lock on mine. “It’s not your fault. Those women had amazing experiences with you. They wanted to share.”
“I don’t share.” I tug her closer, not sure if I’m still talking about keeping the details of my personal life private or whether I’m more focused on making her mine.
She rests both hands on my shoulders. “I don’t share either.”
I take a flying leap because fuck it, I need to. “Don’t sleep with anyone else, Abigail.”
Her left brow twitches. “What?”
“Be my lover,” I say. “Don’t fuck other men. I won’t fuck anyone else. I don’t want to fuck anyone else.”
Her lips curl up toward a smile. “Are you serious?”
I look directly into her eyes. “I’m dead serious. I want this to be exclusive. You’ll be my only lover, and I’ll be yours.”
She contemplates my words carefully. “I’ll be your lover, Declan, but only on one condition.”
