It was hard not to stare, because damn, those sweatpants were snug…

My heart fluttered like the wings of a butterfly at the sight of them, at his chiseled arms and soft blue eyes. There was a shadow across his jawline, stubble that looked rough to the touch. My insides squirmed like this was the first time I’d come over.

His arm circled my lower back, and he brought me in for a kiss.

My hands immediately felt his hard chest, and his skin was warm like bathwater.

He grabbed the bag over my shoulder and carried it for me. “Come on.”

We went upstairs to his master bedroom, the place the size of a large apartment in Florence. He set my bag on one of the couches. “The bath is ready.”

“You know how to draw a bath?” I asked in surprise.

“I said the bath was ready, not that I did it.” He scooped his fingers into the waistband and pulled his sweatpants down, along with his boxers, and showed his dick that was already hard.

I forced my eyes up so I wouldn’t stare.

“You can look at it, Pretty. You know I love to look at yours.” He stepped into me, his big hands moving to my hips and gripping me hard. His head dipped, and he kissed the corner of my mouth before his fingers slid under my top and slowly pulled it over my head, revealing a lacy white bra. He looked down at me, right into my cleavage. “You look good in white.”

“You look good in nothing.”

A subtle smirk moved to his lips as he unfastened my jeans, getting them loose before he tugged them down, getting the matching thong off my ass and down to my ankles.

I stepped out of everything, including my shoes, and then his fingers effortlessly unclasped my bra and let it come loose.

He pulled me to him and pressed a hungry kiss to my shoulder. “You’re fucking beautiful.” His big hands squeezed one of my cheeks before he scooped me up in a single arm.

My arms circled his neck, and I kissed him as he carried me into his bedroom and then the bathroom, which was also enormous. It had a shower with two heads and a tub that looked like a spa.

He gently set me on the floor. “I love how tall you are.”

“Really? I’ve always hated it.” When I wore heels, I was even taller, having the height of a man. That limited my prospects in the dating pool, because I needed a guy to be taller than me, but also, most men weren’t interested in a woman taller than them. But Axel was so tall that even when I wore heels, he was still taller than me.

“You’re perfect,” he said. “For a man like me, at least.” He stepped into the tub first then sank under the water. Candles were lit, rose petals were sprinkled across the water, and there was wine, champagne, and a cheese platter.

I stepped into the warm water then moved between his thighs, leaning back against his hard chest for support. He was warmer than the water, so it was like lying on a heating pad in winter. I relaxed into him and was immediately cocooned in his strong arms, the muscles bulging and sexy.

I closed my eyes and rested against him, infinitely more comfortable here than I’d been in my apartment. “This is nice.”

“You’re sexy in bubbles.”

“Psh, you’re the sexy one.” I’d hooked up with a lot of hot guys, but my god, none of them were as hot as Axel. The first time I saw him, my throat went dry like the Sahara Desert, but my lady bits swelled like a tide. That tension pulled at my stomach every time we were in the same room together. It made me hot on the coldest night, made me fidget when I’d normally be still.

“Yeah?” The grin was in his voice. “I’ve been getting a lot of compliments today.”

“You’re arrogant enough. You don’t need more compliments.”

“Trust me, it could be worse.” His arms wrapped around me, warm like a blanket. The cords traveled up his forearms to his biceps, popping out of the skin like rivers on a map. “And every night we’re together, it definitely gets worse.”

“Why?”

After a pause, he spoke. “Look at you.”

I rolled my eyes.

“I’m serious.”

“I don’t have low self-esteem and know I look good in a short dress, but you’re in a whole different league, Axel.”

His head dipped to kiss my shoulder. “This is news to me.”

“Come on, you know you can have anyone you want.”

“I could say the same for you.”

I gave a quiet chuckle. “I don’t know about that.”

“You know I wanted you the moment I saw you.”

“But I’m sure you hit on every beautiful woman you see—”

“Actually, I don’t,” he said. “Too busy for that.”
