“Never,” she agrees, gasping as her body quakes underneath me, signaling her orgasm. She brings me with her, just like she always does. When we come together, it’s like our bodies are completely in tune with one another, it’s easy, natural, and so fucking good that I can’t describe it.

“It gets better every single time,” Jasmine breathes out with a sigh. I usually stay in her longer—long after we’ve come. Today though, I kiss her lips quickly and walk into the bathroom to get a washcloth. I’ve ridden her hard and this is like the third time straight since we got back from Kentucky. I should feel like an ass, but I don’t. I’ve quickly discovered that fucking my woman when there’s a kid in the house is a hell of a lot different. It’s one of the reasons that I’m working so damn hard to get the closing done on our house. Having bedrooms which are on the same floor but far enough apart that I can have Red the way I want her will be like fucking heaven.

I wet the washcloth with warm water and then come back to find Jasmine, curled on her side, looking at me, her pillow bunched up under her head and the sheet pulled up to her hip.

God, she’s beautiful—every fantasy I’ve ever had.

“I could get used to that view,” she croons with a smile.

“Quit trying to be sweet. You still have to make it up to me for telling everyone I was lying about the size of my dick,” I rumble, trying to hide the smirk on my face. I walk to her and start rubbing the cloth between her legs, cleaning and hopefully soothing her sweet pussy at the same time.

“If this is how you punish me, I’m just saying I may do it again,” she laughs while stretching.

I throw the cloth down on the floor and climb back up in bed. Jasmine immediately curls into me, throwing a leg over my hip.

“I love you,” she says, kissing my chest.

“Love you, too, Red,” I respond, gruffly.

“My mom liked you,” she says, her voice thoughtful—quiet.

“I’m not so sure of that, baby. Seems to me like she had her heart set on you ending up with someone on a different side of the law.”

I feel her body tense even before I get the words out and I swear to God that I can feel her withdraw from me.

“I’m hungry,” she complains, while sitting up. She tucks the sheet tight under her arm, shielding her body, turning to throw her legs off the bed.

“Did it get cold in here all of the sudden?” I question, sitting up behind her. I don’t allow her to leave the bed. Instead, I wrap my arms around her waist and pull—a clearly resisting—Jasmine to me.

“Let me go, Luke. I need to find some kind of snack food in this damn apartment. How you ever lived here is beyond me.”

“I never did much, until you came along that is.”

“Oh yeah, I forgot, you only started not staying at the club when you needed a place to stay with me. Heaven forbid you keep me around the club.”

“Why are you trying to pick a fight with me?” I breathe out, refusing to rise to the bait she’s dangling.

“I’m not.”

“Tell you what, baby—”

“What?”

“You want to start staying at the club, that’s exactly what we’ll do. We’ll move into the club. Hell, I’ll even cancel the closing on the house.”

“I don’t want that,” she bellyaches—sounding a lot like Daisy does when she gets in trouble and she pouts.

“Then, tell me what you do want?

“To find food, so let me go,” she huffs.

“I thought you told me you weren’t going to run away anymore, Red?” I growl, refusing to let go even though she is pulling against me to get free. Then, all at once, the fight seems to go out of her, and she goes limp against my body.

“There’s a difference between running away and not wanting to talk about something, Luke.”

“I get that, but you’re going to have to tell me sometime, Jasmine.”

She breathes out, the sound achingly sad.

“Red…”

“You may not know this about me, Luke, but sometimes I make very bad decisions.”

I move her thick mass of auburn curls to one side, placing it over her right shoulder, and then press a kiss against the base of her spine. I move so that I’m cradling her body, keeping my arms around her waist, wanting her to feel surrounded by me—surrounded and secure.

“I knew that, baby,” I tell her tenderly, my fingers brushing comfortingly against her stomach.

She tilts her head to look over her shoulder at me. “How did you know that?”

“You chose to hook up with me. But, I’m smart, so I’m not about to let you talk yourself out of it now,” I respond, and she may not realize how honest I’m being, but I do. Jasmine deserves much better than me and I’m still worried she’ll find out the real reason we met. I need to talk to Ford about everything, but he’s not listening to reason. I understand it. If someone hurt Daisy, I’d be completely pissed, but risking going to war by bringing an innocent girl into the mix…
