“Daddy,” she said before she could talk herself out of it.

“I’m glad. Let me tuck you in, and then I’ll get Coco for you to hold while I take the coldest shower ever recorded.”

“Cold?” she repeated, not understanding.

Kestrel drew her forward to press against his body. Even through the thick toweling, she could feel how hard he was everywhere. He’s not that big, is he?

Her shock must have shown on her face because he nodded and explained, “Zara, you affect Daddy as much as his touch turned you on.”

“Umm… Should I help you—somehow? I don’t know what to do, but you could coach me.”

With a groan, he moved her away from him. “I promise I’ll show you everything. We’ll learn to please each other together just like we did tonight. But now, it’s time for Little girls to be in bed. Come on, Little Swan.”

As he promised, he tucked her into bed and zipped into the playroom to retrieve Coco. “Close your eyes, Little girl. I’ll join you in a few minutes.”

“Yes, Daddy.”

Exhausted mentally and physically, Zara rolled onto her tummy and pulled Coco close. She heard him moving around quietly for a while. It was reassuring not being alone. Daddy.

Chapter Ten

Waking the next morning to find his arms filled with delicious curves, Kestrel stared at the ceiling for a second to make sure he wasn’t still dreaming. Satisfied by the old-fashioned light above him, Kestrel risked glancing to his left. A laugh escaped from his lips as he looked straight into brown, fuzzy eyes. Coco’s eyes.

“Daddy?”

“Hi, Zara. I didn’t mean to wake you,” Kestrel said softly as he lifted Coco higher on the pillows and looked down his body to see his Little girl.

Tucked close, she still rested her cheek against his chest. Slowly, she inched her leg down from its position over his pelvis. Kestrel grinned. Like I’m not going to notice.

“You didn’t wake me,” she stated and then yawned, betraying the truth.

“Try that again, Little Swan. It’s not a good idea to start the day with a lie.”

“I wasn’t really lying,” she said, looking up at him with wide, crystal-blue eyes.

As soon as their gazes locked, she nodded and admitted, “Okay. I was dozing, but that’s almost asleep.”

“I’m sorry, Little girl. I woke up, and Coco was staring at me.”

“He does that sometimes. He’s always keeping vigil over me. That’s why I love him so much.”

“I’m glad he takes such good care of you. He was definitely checking me out to make sure I wasn’t a bad guy.”

“Oh, I’ll talk to him.” She propped herself up on one elbow to look for Coco and, in the process, nudged Kestrel in a sensitive area.

“Oof!” He grabbed her knee and moved it to a safer spot.

“Oh! I’m sorry!” she said, scrambling back away from him and almost doing more damage.

Kestrel quickly wrapped his arms around her and held her plastered on top of his body. She froze in place as their naked bodies pressed intimately together. “You’re going to kill me, Little Swan.”

“I’m sorry,” she said with tears gathering in her eyes.

Immediately, he felt like he’d mistreated a kitten. “Zara, I should be the one apologizing. I didn’t mean to make you feel bad. I’m teasing.”

“Really? I didn’t hurt you?”

“There are some areas on a man just like a woman that are very sensitive. You may have caused a temporary twinge but you didn’t hurt me, Zara.”

“Promise?”

“I promise.”

“I should get off you before I hurt you again,” she suggested and wiggled before freezing. “Could you help me so I don’t hurt you?”

She was so earnest, he couldn’t resist. Rolling their bodies entwined together, he reversed their positions so he was on top. Kestrel balanced his weight on a knee braced between her thighs and his forearm. “All better.”

“I still can’t move,” she whispered after tentatively squirming a bit.

“Maybe I like having you right here,” Kestrel suggested. He brushed her silky hair away from her face. “Do you like being with Daddy?”

She nodded and reached up to run her hands over his shoulders. Kestrel loved how she traced the muscles as she learned his body. He lowered his head to capture her mouth, and she slid her hand over her mouth.

“Morning breath,” she mumbled.

“Does that mean my breath is stinky?” he asked in amusement.

“Oh! No. I was talking about myself,” she assured him, pulling her hand away.

To his delight, she lifted her head to press her lips lightly against his. Kestrel allowed her to be in control until she pulled back.

“Take a breath, Little girl,” he ordered.

“A breath?”

“Your lips won’t be free for a while,” he warned, and then her chest rose against him as she inhaled. “Good girl.”

Kestrel kissed her lips softly before deepening the kiss gradually. He loved her taste. Trying not to scare her, he held himself back. When she lifted a hand to weave it through his hair to tug him closer, he threw caution to the wind. To his delight, her tongue met his and traced around it in a cat-and-mouse game that gave him a glorious reason to explore her mouth. They were both breathing heavily when he lifted his head.
