I didn’t give a fuck that the reporters were there watching. However, she must have forgotten they were. My dick twitched in response, knowing I could still make her lose herself.

“That’s enough questions for today. Thank you, everyone,” my agent announced into the microphone, nodding for us to get up and leave.

We did.

I grabbed Bailey from my wife’s arms, carrying her in mine instead, and got my family out of there. Holding Harley’s hand in the process.

On our way toward the locker room, I caught Harley rubbing her lips back and forth with her fingers as if she could still feel me there.

Yeah, me too, baby.

“That was quite a kiss,” my stepmom declared, coming into view once we stepped into the room.

“Grammy!” Bailey greeted, reaching for her.

“I think you won everyone over,” she added, winking at us.

“Like father, like son,” Dad exclaimed, kissing the top of Camila’s head.

“Grampy!” Bailey celebrated again, like she hadn’t just been with them all day in the team’s private suite. Watching me kick nothing but ass on the field.

“Hey, princess,” he responded, grabbing her from Camila’s arms. “How about we head back to our suite with Bailey, and you guys go enjoy the rest of your night at the afterparty.”

“You don’t have to do that,” Harley countered, not meeting my eyes. “I can take her back to our suite. Jackson can go and celebrate with his teammates.”

“I’m not leaving you. If you go back, I’m going with you.”

“Oh, come on, it’s no bother at all. We insist,” Camila chimed in. “You guys go and have a great time. It’s your big victory! We will keep Bailey in our suite overnight. We can meet up for breakfast in the morning.”

“I don’t think—”

“Thanks,” I interrupted Harley. “I’d love to have my wife to myself tonight.”

Her eyes finally fused with mine.

There was no hiding from me, Gremlin...

At least not, tonight.

Chapter 18

With the way Jackson was lookin’ at me, there was no way I’d escape him, at least not tonight. Nothin’ I’d say would make him back down, and for the first time in years, I wanted to celebrate with him.

I was beyond proud of everythin’ he accomplished this far in life. He truly made all his dreams come true through determination, hard work, and sacrifice.

That was the only reason, right?

It had absolutely zero to do with the kiss that lit every fiber in my body on fire.

“What are you thinking about over there?” Jackson suspected, pullin’ me away from my thoughts in the back of the limo drivin’ us to the afterparty. The extravagant event bein’ held at Duke Mansion.

We’d just left a high-end boutique downtown where I was now dressed to the nines. Wearin’ a white silk gown that accentuated every curve of my petite frame. I hadn’t brought anythin’ this fancy with me, nor did I own anythin’ up to this caliber. Unaware that this afterparty was even bein’ held.

Jackson had his agent bring him a tux, and I swear as soon as I stepped out of that dressin’ room and saw him standin’ there waitin’ for me, lookin’ as handsome as could be, my stomach fluttered, and my heart dropped to the floor.

For the first time in I don’t know how long, I took him in. Like truly studied the six-foot-two man who towered over me.

Somewhere along the way, my boy turned into a man. A devastatingly handsome man at that. With his bright blue eyes, blond slicked-back hair. Dressed in a tuxedo that probably cost as much as my forty-five-hundred-dollar gown.

Though, money wasn’t an issue for Jackson Pierce. He picked up that trait from his father. Always givin’ everyone what they wanted, no matter the cost. He spoiled the shit out of Bailey. We’d argue about it often, but he was insistent that our daughter would have whatever she wanted in life. Sayin’ it would make her find a better man, one just like her father.

“You look really handsome, Rudolph.” I hadn’t called him that since before Bailey was born. “Who would have thought you’d grow into your nose?”

He grinned, enjoyin’ our banter and the fact I just called him the childhood nickname I gave him. “What about my ears?”

“They’re still pointy. Less noticeable, now that your head grew bigger.”

“Well, you still look like a Gremlin.”

My mouth dropped open.

“A sexy as fuck Gremlin,” he clarified quickly.

“Is that even a thing?”

“Your bright blue-green eyes are still too big for your face.”

“What about my lips?”

He narrowed his eyes at me, rubbin’ his thumb across his mouth in a predatory regard. While his other hand pressed a button to lift the divider between us and the driver.

Once we were behind the closed partition, he huskily rasped, “I would love to see them wrapped around my cock.”

My eyes widened.

“What do you say? I did win the Super Bowl after all.”
