“Huh. What do you know? My dick seems to dig the idea of the word no.”

“So you’d be okay with me talking?” Holden cocked his head to the side, studying me. “I’m good with staying silent, observing, whatever would make this feel the best for you. What do you want, Cal?”

“Wow. No one’s ever asked me like that.”

Holden frowned, continuing to look at me like I was some new species of wildlife. “No one’s ever asked you what you wanted and needed in a sexual experience?”

“I’m a SEAL. Everyone wants to get banged by a SEAL, and they usually come complete with their own fantasy.” I sighed, the heaviness of every night out with the guys, every ill-fated setup, and every awkward double date weighing me down. “Not that I’ve got a ton of experience, but everyone I’ve met expects me to do the leading.”

I had a feeling if I said the word virgin to Holden, he might balk further, but if we got technical and used any sort of penetrative sex as the benchmark, the label might be accurate. But I was dancing toward my mid-thirties, and using the word felt more than a little ridiculous.

“I don’t expect you to lead.” Holden’s expression softened as his mouth quirked. “And I have the opposite problem. I’m a top. I’ve always been a top, regardless of my partner and my injuries. But after the accident, potential dates stopped seeing me in the top role as much.”

I did a double-take at that. “People stopped noticing you’re bossy as all get out?”

“You’d be surprised how invisible the chair makes someone. And don’t even get me started on the caretaker or wheelchair fetishists.” Holden’s sigh sounded exactly as weighty as mine had. “I get that you SEALs have it rough, but I’ve struggled with being a different type of notch on the bedpost for partners, and it sucks. And not in the good way.”

“I imagine not.”

“I suppose if I have a kink for anything, it’s control. Leading, like you said. Being in control of when someone gets to climax.” His tone was thoughtful, not particularly sexy, but my dick still took plenty of notice. “But also delivering precisely what it is my partner most wants. I like to please, and if I get to control the pleasing, so much the better.”

“Huh.” I pursed my lips. He sure managed to make edging sound like an entire damn entrée. “Never ordered off the menu before…”

“Start. What do you want, Cal?” Ah, there was the bossiness, and damn if I didn’t love it. “You asked me to stay. Tell me what image flashed through your head.”

“You. In that chair over there. Feet up, all casual-like.” I pointed at the chair in the corner. Inhaling deeply, I let myself drift, trying to channel my rogue impulse into a series of coherent thoughts. “Your body language is relaxed, but your eyes are so intent. Watching me. I can’t see you the best because I’m on my front, but I know you’re there, eyes on me the whole time.”

“Trust me that watching you isn’t going to be a problem.” He chuckled roughly.

“Yeah. Watching. And you’re telling me what you see and what you’d like to do to me. Like narration?” The more I mused, the more I warmed to the idea. I loved his voice, deep and rich and melodic, so nuanced and emotive, and listening to those back podcast episodes had made the miles pass quickly. I hadn’t considered the sexual potential before, but now my cock was almost painfully hard at the thought of Holden talking me through the experience. “And controlling. The…orgasm denial thing you were talking about? That sounds good.”

“I can do all that. My pleasure.” He gave me a downright wicked grin, and if Holden was attractive normally, he was irresistible when in a sexy mood. Surprising, how much I liked that mood on him. He rolled away from the bed, heading toward the chair.

“Wait.” I held up my unbound hands before flipping over to my front. “Check my rigging first.”

I could have done it myself, of course, but I was getting into Holden being in charge. He moved far more carefully and gently than I would have as he looped the rope around my wrists and followed my instructions for attaching it to the headboard with the special carabiners and bolts. With him standing next to his chair, I was acutely aware of his bigger size and how he probably had a couple of inches on me in height as well as a much wider frame. He kept stopping to check the rope tension and my circulation, making me feel delicate. Fragile even. I shuddered, the unexpected pleasure almost too much.

“Doing okay?”

“Great.” I wasn’t lying. I was already drifting on a wonderful haze of good feelings. So good I almost missed Holden threading the rig through the timer. “You don’t have to use the key safe timer if you’re staying in the room.”
