“Jealous?”

She started struggling in his grasp. Using her movements to aid him, Moon sank a finger into her opening, sending an orgasmic spasm through her. She would have fallen to the floor if he hadn’t held her in his grasp.

“I could hate you. I don’t care how many women you’ve been with!” She finally managed to say when she was able to form a coherent thought.

“Would you like a number?”

“You jerk!”

When she finally succeeded from him, she went into the bedroom to pull on a pair of pajamas as Moon stood in the bathroom doorway to watch her.

“I don’t need a number. I’m not stupid; you’ve been playing in the major league, while I’ve only been up to a bat a couple times in the little league. I may lack your experience, but that doesn’t make me totally inexperienced. This isn’t the first relationship I’ve been in, in which I’ve been more invested than the man. I lied to myself the first time, pretended I was just imagining he didn’t look at me the same way I looked at him … right up until my best friend told me they were sleeping together behind my back. All I ask is for you to be honest with me.”

She sat down on the bed and stared at him earnestly. “I know you’re in a hard position—a woman you had no relationship with is carrying your child. I ran off, and you want to make sure I don’t do it again. I could totally understand if you thought it would be easier to make a life with me rather than having to deal with all the other crap of having to deal with a potential custody fight or arrangements which could possibly leave you with little or no control on how your child is raised. I get that.”

Larissa dropped her guard and let Moon see how sincere she was being with him. “I don’t want you to have to live a lie. Not when you don’t have to. I’ll stay in Treepoint until our child turns eighteen. We can share joint custody. I won’t expect any money from you and will even carry the insurance. I’m even willing to let you be the one to decide how we split the time. I’m willing to do whatever it would take to make you happy, because I can’t keep fighting a losing battle with myself.”

Moon frowned at her. “What kind of battle?”

“To not fall in love with you.” Vulnerable, her voice dropped to a whisper.

As he strode across the carpeted floor, she didn’t have time to react before she found herself lifted and placed in the middle of the bed, with Moon pressing her down into the soft mattress.

“I love a good fight.”

“I’m serious, Moon. Sometimes, you frighten me.”

His head jerked up. “Why?”

“I don’t know why … I can’t explain it. I think you could be really cruel if you wanted to be.”

Moon ran a gentle finger across her cheekbone. “There’s no need to be frightened of me.”

His voice had dropped to a low purr, which made her nipples tighten. The seductive way he was looking down at her also had her stomach muscles clenching. God, Moon could make her hot with one look.

“I could never be cruel to you when you’re carrying my child.”

He gave her no assurances of what would happen after the baby was born, she noticed.

Grazing her lips with his before pressing down to part them, Moon didn’t give her the opportunity to say another word. Using all his skills, he reignited her desire until she was writhing beneath him.

“Please, Moon, I can’t take any more.”

“What do you want?” he growled into her ear as his fingers stroked her to a fever pitch.

“You … I want you,” she admitted.

“How?”

“Can I choose?”

“Oh yes, I’ll fuck you any way you want.”

The sexual promise in his voice nearly made her climax. Gritting her teeth, she tried to hold it back. She wanted his cock inside of her when she came.

“Can I ride you?”

Moon rolled off her then helped her straddle him. It was everything she could do not to let her eyes roll to the back of her head when he filled her.

“Do you want me to move?”

“Not yet. I don’t want to come yet,” she admitted.

He gave her a wicked grin. “Afraid I won’t be able to get it up again? There’s no need to worry. I’m not a one-trick pony.”

Biting her lip when he started teasing her nipples, she swatted his hand away. “You might have another round in you. I don’t.”

Any idea of controlling her climax went out the window as Moon started bucking underneath her. Boneless, her head dropped to his chest as her climax subsided, leaving her limp and angry at him.

“I wasn’t ready to come,” she told him peevishly.
