Got an earful from the new boss. Didn’t think “PDA with Luna” would make his list of complaints. Price wanted me to inform security before I kissed her in public. I told him he should be thanking me for not disturbing his 3 a.m. beauty sleep. Note to self: The new boss man hates my jokes more than Papa Hale does. Forgot that about him.
Also! How do fans know I’ve been transferred to Epsilon? It’s sus. That’s not anything we advertise. Brought it up to Price. He thought it wasn’t important. But idk, we *could* have a rat among us. Don’t trust all of Epsilon tbh.
Good news: Been avoiding SFE like the plague. Haven’t had to deal with them while I’m off-duty.
Bad news: Gonna see a lot of ‘em at the funeral and lake house. Here’s hoping I can continue the avoidance streak *prayer hands*
Lastly! Could barely sleep the last few nights. Missed Luna next to me. Woke up in a cold sweat when I realized she wasn’t there.
Meals: Quick brekky in the penthouse. Meeting up with Luna at the funeral. Lunch on the way to the lake house? Dinner there??
Water: GF’s Pussy: Better than Evian. It’s all I need to survive.
Question of the Day: Do all crows go to heaven when they die?

PAUL DONNELLY
“Wait, wait, wait.” Oscar shoots out a hand, but not to stop me from moving around my bedroom in the Philly penthouse. “That’s not a rumor? You’re shitting me?”
“You gotta get yourself some adult diapers, man, if you keep crapping yourself this much,” I say lightly.
Farrow laughs while eating a red apple. He’s leaning casually against my Van Halen poster and dressed head-to-toe in black. The past three days, he’s been staying with the Hales for the holidays with his husband and kids, but he stopped by early this morning to drive me to the funeral.
“You don’t have to do that,” I said over the phone.
“Okay, but I want to,” he told me, and I didn’t protest. Luna wanted to join him and ride with us, but after a short talk, Luna and I agreed it’s better if she uses this time to show her parents that she’s not unhealthily attached to me and that we can be physically apart.
It’s why I haven’t seen her (outside of FaceTime) since the night her mom caught us.
Hearing Farrow’s laugh, I grin and jump into black slacks for the funeral. Not even half-dressed yet. Whereas my two best friends look sharp and ready to say bon voyage to the penthouse and hello there to the cemetery. They came into my room about the same time I finished writing in the daily planner.
“It’s not funny,” Oscar snaps at Farrow.
“It’s a little funny,” Farrow says matter-of-factly and into another crunch of apple.
Oscar is the only one sitting. His ass is on the edge of my bed. I donated the floral grannie bedding to Goodwill and bought myself a nice white comforter and matching sheets.
Oscar is gripping his cell phone too hard, and it feels like he’s actually pissed at Farrow. “Donnelly took Epsilon’s vehicle when he wasn’t on-duty, Redford. Your motherfucking maverick ass might find it hilarious, but this is serious.”
“Hold on.” Farrow swallows a bite. “I was laughing at his fucking joke, Oscar.”
Oscar is still glaring at Farrow.
I glance cautiously between them, slowly fishing a button through my fly. “You two need a therapy sesh or what?”
“No,” they say in unison.
Farrow rolls his eyes, then sighs. “Fine, okay, it’s a little fucking funny to me that those fuckers are crying about their car’s interior. It’s glitter, not blood or semen.”
“It’s a fireable offense,” Oscar retorts, then zeroes in on me. “Are you trying to get fired, bro?”
“No,” I say with the shake of my head.
Oscar gapes. “Then why take the car? Why not clean up the glitter in the front seats at the very least? You’re not dumb. You know Epsilon isn’t Omega. Price isn’t Akara—”
“I know,” I cut in, taking my black button-down out of the closet.
“Then you know Price and his men were going to care if you took their Range Rover to go on a date with Luna. So what exactly was going through your head? And don’t say you weren’t thinking—because we all know you were.”
Farrow’s now looking me over like he’s interested in this answer too.
I tell them honestly, “I was thinking about ruining O’Malley’s week.”
Farrow tips his head from side-to-side, then shares a look with Oscar.
“I wish you two wouldn’t do that,” I mutter, shoving my arms in my button-down.
“Do what?” Oscar asks.
“Act like you’re my two overconcerned older brothers.”
“We are older than you,” Farrow says plainly.
“Barely.” I try to find my nicest pair of black socks in my dresser. “And it’s not the older or brother part I have a problem with.”
“We’re not overconcerned,” Oscar says. “We’re just plain concerned, Donnelly.”
