The way I was making him feel.

I could feel exactly what I was doing to him, too.

The more I concentrated on him, the more I realized that we were feeding off each other.

He was getting harder by knowing the feel of him inside of me was getting me off.

I was getting slicker, allowing more than I ever would’ve allowed any other man to take, and that was all because of that connection.

My head started to lull as another orgasm started to rise through me.

My spine started to tingle, and my breath caught in my lungs.

Ian’s body stiffened over mine, and I tried to pull my legs back to gain the momentum I needed to push myself over the edge.

I shouldn’t have bothered.

Ian knew exactly what I needed.

Pinned beneath him, surrounded by him, his hips powered into mine.

His cock so hard and thick filled me up so well that I didn’t want him to ever leave.

“Oh, my God,” I breathed. “Please.”

Ian’s eyes, so fucking perfect I could barely stand to look at them, held mine.

And we both fell.

Something happened then. Something so profound that I knew I would never be the same.

Every single thing that had ever happened to me, that I’d ever participated in or felt was given to him in that moment.

And I received the same from him in return.

His hopes. His dreams. His desires. His everything. I now knew everything.

Our eyes locked, our gazes held, and we fell. Hopelessly, irrevocably and madly.

He knew everything there was to know, and he smiled.

“I was your first in a long time!” I whispered once we both came down.

He blinked, then grinned.

“You’re so smooth! How the hell does that even work? I was a nervous wreck, and you’re like an iron statue. Hells bells, Ian!” I exclaimed.

He was so sure of himself, so confident. Everything that I wasn’t.

“I was waiting for you,” he said, dropping his face down so he could place a small kiss on the corner of my mouth before he pulled away from me.

Horror flooded through me as I realized we didn’t use a condom.

“We didn’t use a condom!” I cried. “Oh, my God.”

“I’m fixed,” he muttered. “No worries there.”

My brows furrowed.

“You’re fixed?” I asked.

He nodded.

“Why?” I asked. “Why on Earth would you get ‘fixed?’”

He looked at me like I wasn’t seeing the whole picture.

“Search for it,” he muttered.

Then he left, leaving me there to wonder what in the hell I’d just said to garner that kind of reaction from him.

Surely he didn’t really think that he was unworthy like I was reading from him.

Surely.

Right?

Wrong.

That was exactly what he believed, very strongly in fact, and it was something that I realized much too late.

Chapter 10

If I had a Taser, I’d probably get curious and Taser myself…and that’s why I don’t have a taser.

-Fact of Life

Wink

I walked out of the bedroom eight hours later, searching for Ian for the tenth time that day.

I didn’t know what I expected.

I’d gone through every room in his four-bedroom mini-mansion and hadn’t found him yet.

Then I’d gone outside, played with a trio of blue dragons—dragons that Ian assured me weren’t normally there, and it had to have been because they had come to see me—with really disconcerting eyes, and then I’d gone back inside. After sitting on my ass watching Seinfeld re-runs for over two hours, I’d finally gotten up to clean.

When I was done cleaning, I’d picked up my camera, which had magically appeared the other day in one of the spare bedrooms, along with all my other belongings, and walked outside to explore.

After taking a few hundred photos, I started to make my way back into Ian’s house only to stop when I saw Keifer and Ian in the woods just beyond Ian’s backyard.

I raised my camera and started taking photos of the two of them, knowing damn well and good that Ian knew I was there.

My focus, at first, had been the two of them, but then my camera lens took on a life of its own and focused in on Ian.

His eyes. The part of his lips. The slant of his eyes. The silver that streaked through his hair. His tattoo.

The same one that was on my neck.

Although his tattoo was more dainty in appearance. More like my hand than the one on my neck that looked like his.

Once I’d taken so many pictures that I knew I would have a hard time sorting through them all, I finally broke cover and walked out into the open.

Keifer saw me immediately and his eyes did something funny.

They filled with sorrow.

“Wink,” Keifer said in a deeply grating voice. “I would like to apologize.”

“For what?” I asked him absently as I made my way to Ian’s side.

Ian stiffened when I wrapped my arms around his. Clearly, he wasn’t over whatever the hell he’d gotten stuck up his ass today. It was obvious that I had my work cut out for me when Keifer left.
