“Mouth,” I blurt immediately.

He groans. “Good girl.”

And I love that, too. When he reaches for me, I slide my arms around his neck, tilting my face up so he can kiss me again. I love his mouth against mine, the sure, thorough sweep of his tongue into my mouth, and the gentle press of his chest against my pierced nipple. I’m dizzy with wanting him, and when he pulls away from me this time, I let out a little whimper of distress.

“I owe you two more,” he murmurs, leaning in and nipping at my lip ring with his mouth only. It’s a careful, tender nip and makes me whimper all over again like the needy thing I am. “I’ll give them to you in the bedroom. I promise.”

I nod, and then he takes my hand, leading me to our quarters. To my relief, no one shows up to pull us apart. No Ruth-Ann, no Erzah, no Sakkar, no one at all. We make it there and move to the bed, immediately twining around each other and kissing again.

“Two,” he gasps between kisses. And when I’m lost in his mouth and dazed from the kissing, he presses a final small one on my upper lip. “Three.”

“I like kissing you,” I manage. “Why haven’t we been doing this all along?”

“Because I was waiting for you to ask, and you thought about it so hard that you scared yourself out of asking.” He gives me another quick kiss and then pulls his tunic off over his head, tossing it to the floor.

Oh, he’s getting shirtless. Preparing for tails? At my look, he grins. “I’m not going to want to wear a shirt either way.” Then he pauses, eyeing me again. “Touch me.”

It’s not an ask. It’s a demand, but it’s done in that careful way of Kazex’s where it doesn’t feel bossy or creepy. It just feels confident. Like he knows what we both want.

I put my hand on his tattoo, lightly tracing the dancing, wild lines with my fingertips. They look a bit like human tribals, but three times more intricate, with lines weaving out of lines and shapes added to the mix. “Do they mean anything?”

“If they do, I don’t know it. There was an older clone at the mines where I worked. He would draw designs for us. Made them all unique so we would have art that was all our own. He was covered in his own tattoos, too. I saw him do hundreds of designs for the mine a’ani, and none of them were ever alike.”

“It’s beautiful. Maybe I should consider some tattoos of my own.”

“If you like. I’m happy with whatever makes you feel good.”

That’s another thing I adore about him—I can shave my head and he loves it. I can pierce all the spots in my face and he thinks it’s fantastic. I can wear men’s clothing or burp with the rest of them in the dining hall. He’s never once made me feel anything but utterly beautiful. I don’t have to have long hair or smooth, perfect skin to please him. He just wants me happy and comfortable in myself.

I trace a finger around his nipple, watching his reaction. “Are you sensitive here?”

“Not much,” he admits. “Not like you.”

I grin at that and trail my finger lower, more towards the middle of his abdomen. His stomach is a smooth, flat expanse. When I run a finger along the spot where a navel should be, though, he squirms away, his breathing quickening. “Sensitive there.”

Oooh, fascinating. I decide I’m going to lick that spot on him, and soon.

I slide my finger lower, tugging at the band of his trou. His cock is very obviously erect, pressing a tent against his clothing. I glance up at him, and his focused gaze is locked on me.

“Coin now?” he asks. “Or have you made up your mind?”

I freeze. One of the choices is clearly better for me than the other, but it also feels a little bossy to just ask for it. Even so, I want it to remain on the table. But are we even ready for that? Or are we moving too fast—

“Coin now,” he tells me, leaning forward and kissing me again. “I’ve decided.”

Oh. Right. God, I really do think too much.

“Coin,” I agree.

He holds it aloft, flips it into the air, and then slaps a palm over the coin before it lands. He glances up at me, eyes full of excitement. “Ready?”

“Ready,” I say, breathless.

Kazex pulls his hand back.

Tails.

We both sit back, glancing at each other. Is it strange to say I’m disappointed? Because I’ll still enjoy seeing him touch himself. Like, a lot. But the other suggestion took my breath away…

Kaz immediately picks up the coin. “We’ll flip it again.”

A surprised giggle escapes me. “What? That’s not how it works.”
