The cupcake bakery owner scurried from the room with a wave to Maniac who appeared to be trying to set his cupcake up so he could take random bites without getting frosting on his gloves as he worked.
“That helmet looks perfect,” Tori said softly with a smile.
“Thanks to you. Milo, the knight in shining armor, is hot, but not with a bullet head. You saved him,” Riley commented with a laugh. “I owe you one.”
“I might collect on that,” Tori assured her before linking her arm with Sue and tugging the other woman toward the door.
“It looks extraordinary,” Sue complimented before being pulled out the door. She waved through the window as they followed Ellie and gave them two enthusiastic thumbs up.
“I guess that makes it unanimous,” Milo pointed out as Tatiana laid the design on the table and rolled it back up.
“How long will it take? I’ve never had a tattoo.”
“We’ll start with two hours and take a break if you need it,” Tatiana said. “For something that intricate, you’re looking at a month at least to let everything heal between sessions.”
Riley glanced out the window. “I’m afraid I need to go. A second bus just pulled up. It’s the battle of the school bands this weekend. I think our favorite cupcake pusher has invited everyone here.”
“Go, panda girl. I’ll squeeze in later to guess another cupcake. I have to be almost finished with that list. As I remember, you promised to take five off my list,” Milo said with a smile. He watched her dart from the tattoo parlor to fly down the covered sideway toward Little Cakes.
When he turned his attention back to Tatiana, he couldn’t stop grinning. “I can’t believe Riley made this,” he said as he grabbed his shirt and pulled it over his head. “That makes it so much more special than I ever could have imagined.”
Tatiana beamed. “I’m so glad you like it. I know she worked hard on it for the past week. There are bags under her eyes.”
Milo smirked. I am going to spank her sweet bottom for keeping this secret. First chance he got, his palm would be making contact with her butt cheeks, but he wouldn’t be punishing her. He would be rewarding her. The upcoming spanking was going to end in mind-blowing sex.
Chapter Nineteen
Milo was still dumbfounded when he picked his Little girl up after work. He’d had Tom drop him off at Little Cakes since Riley had driven his car there.
As soon as he stepped into the cupcake shop and spotted his Little girl, he winced. She was dead on her feet at the cash register. Not surprising. She looked like she might collapse at any moment.
Ellie emerged from the back of the shop with a smile on her face. “Oh, good, you’re here. You should take Riley home. She needs sleep.”
Riley sucked in a breath and stood taller, shaking her head. “I’m fine. Really.”
Ellie rolled her eyes. “She’s not fine. She only has one more hour left on her shift. We’ll be fine without her. Take her home.”
Milo nodded as he came around the counter to grab his Little girl’s hand. “Let’s go, panda mine.”
She pouted, but she let him lead her to the back room where he removed her apron and pointed at the time clock. “Clock out, panda bear,” he ordered.
She grumbled, but she did as she was told, and five minutes later he had her belted into the passenger seat of his car.
“Are you going to spank me for keeping the artwork a secret from you, Daddy?” she asked as soon as he was behind the wheel.
He shot her a grin. “Eventually, but not because you’re in trouble. I’m going to spank you as a reward for creating such an amazing design for me.”
She frowned. “Spankings aren’t a reward.”
“Sometimes they are.” He winked at her.
She shivered under his gaze. “Oh.” Then she squirmed in her seat. “Ohhh.”
He chuckled. “But not today. Today, you’re too tired for any sort of spanking. And the kind I’m referring to will lead to several hours of naked time.”
She reached over to set her hand on his thigh. “I think I’ll like that kind of spanking, Daddy.”
“I’ll make sure of it.”
Riley finally relaxed next to him and he wasn’t surprised that his Little girl fell asleep on the drive to his house. She had to be exhausted. She hadn’t taken good care of herself this week.
Riley didn’t stir until he lifted her into his arms to carry her into the house. His heart was so full. He couldn’t remember ever being as happy as this Little girl made him. Even in her sleep, she was precious.
She snuggled into him. “Daddy…” she murmured.
Hesitating in the kitchen, he made a decision. After opening the fridge to grab a bottle of Bear’s famous concoction, he headed for the nursery. It was afternoon, but his panda needed a long nap. Her body had given up the fight.
