Fuck it. She can be one more person in my life that turned their backs on me. I don’t need her.
I don’t need anyone.
Chapter 29
King
We’ve been looking out over the sad-ass trailers that the Feral Kings have here. It’s literally a trailer park. I know they build mobile homes here in Rutledge, Tennessee. We saw a big-ass Clayton factory on Route 11 when we came in. You think they’d at least spring for some of those.
You’d think wrong.
These are old, ragged, Seventies model homes that look like they’ve survived a tornado and put back together with duct tape. I thought it was a shame that Eyeball and those idiots didn’t fix up their place back in North Carolina better—because seriously, that place could be sweet! Now, I know that they can’t fix any place up because they’re just pathetic all the way around.
There’s very little movement around the perimeter of the trailers. The guards—and there are only three that we can see—are centered around one trailer in particular. So, we figure that’s where our targets are. All eyes turn to Dragon when he stands before us, Skull on his right side and Bull on his left.
“We have a decision here, boys. We can drag Eyeball, Demon and Lucky out and play with them, or we can just hurl enough explosives at them it ends them and be done. Now, I know which way I’m leaning because I really just want rid of the fucking scum at this point. Still, Bull and Skull deserve blood and I want them to have it.”
“I want to know which one of them shot my boy and I want to feel his life leave his body as I squeeze his fucking throat,” Skull answers.
“I want to know if they still have my son. Until I know what happened to him, I’m not letting them die,” Bull replies, surprising the shit out of me. I guess until this moment, I didn’t think about the possibility that they’d have one of our men as a hostage—just staging his death. I’m not sure why. I should have.
Dragon nods and looks out at the rest of us. “If Eyeball isn’t responsible for the death—” Hangman begins stops with a look at Bull. “If Eyeball isn’t responsible for whatever happened to your two men, my club wants him. He killed our president and is the reason Blade is where he’s at. We deserve retribution for the death of Bear at the very least.” It’s clear he amended his demand in deference to Bull. Most of us already believe Breaker is dead, but if he has hope, we’re not going to be the ones to dash it.
“I’m okay with that. I have a feeling that whoever this Lucky is, that’s our main goal here anyway,” Dragon concedes.
“What’s the game plan?” I interject, wanting this shit done.
“I need some volunteers to take out the guards. When you do it, you can’t be discovered and there can no noise. If we give these assholes a chance they will escape. We can’t allow that. You can use a knife or your hands, whatever. I just ask that you make sure they don’t make a noise and you don’t either,” Dragon explains.
“I’m game.” I step out as I speak up.
“Me too,” Viper—one of the Saint’s Outlaw—says.
“I can handle the third one,” Skull’s VP, Torch adds. I’m not sure how to get a handle on him. He seems entirely too laid back for my tastes.
“Good, it’s settled. The rest of us will be using this time wisely by making sure the other trailers are empty and carefully barricading the doors. There will be only one point of exit and entry for these assholes when we’re done. After we find out what we need to know and have them contained, I want it to look like a gas leak sent their souls to hell. Are we clear?”
We all nod. Dragon gives the signal for us to move out. I’m all for getting this over quick. Killing people is never my favorite thing to do, but when you’re dealing with motherfuckers like this, it makes it easier. The two men we lost might not have been my brothers, but they were good men and being ambushed is a shit way to die. A real man has balls to face the men he intends to end. The way I’m going to kill my target notwithstanding. They bought they’re ticket the minute they followed leaders who kidnapped and raped an innocent woman.
Once we get to the edge of the clearing where the trailers are, Torch points to the man he’s going to take out. He’s a big, burly motherfucker that is double Torch’s size. I look at him as if to ask if he’s crazy. Torch flips me the finger and I guess that answers that. Viper points to the closest of the three, making me roll my eyes. He smirks because we both know he’s just being lazy. I like this guy. Honestly, I feel pretty comfortable around all of the Saint’s Outlaws that I’ve met. Ford’s brokering an alliance with them and I’m glad. They’re good men to have in your corner. I spot points along the way that I can hide behind before I get to my man.
