And that was all he offered before he disappeared under the sheets with his devilish tongue, and made her toes curl with triple orgasms. Shaking her head, she banished the thoughts from her mind.

These were her last moments as a single woman and she wanted to say goodbye to that Honey, the one who was slightly afraid of true romantic commitments, the one who walked in fear. She released that version of her, saying hello to the one that was becoming James ‘The Archer’ Wilde’s wife.

Suddenly, she saw everyone.

An usher dressed in a navy and white suit had opened the doors. She stood right outside of view, taking it all in. The groomsmen were all lined up, looking amazing in their white suits with navy ties and vests. Archer’s Best Woman was his sister, Irish, who was leading the charge, sporting a navy gown with white sash. She looked absolutely beautiful. Like a princess.

Honey blinked back tears as her mother took her right arm, and her Uncle Dice, her father’s brother, slipped onto the other side. She’d had no idea he was coming, and her knees practically buckled when he leaned in and kissed her cheek.

“Hey, baby! I told you I’d try ’nd make it. I don’t like planes, you know that, but for you I hopped on one, and I did it,” he said in a low tone.

He looks so much like Daddy. She tossed her head back, careful not to disturb her updo and veil, and blinked back the tears. Head held high, she walked down the aisle. People clapped and wept.

Her Uncle Dice and mother slipped away once she reached the minister. She was left to compose herself for she was still in a bit of a shock at the perfection of this day. Then, it dawned on her. Uncle Dice and her mother didn’t give her away. Where was the groom?! Archer wasn’t in his spot. How did she miss that? Probably everyone present was thinking the same thing: Where in the hell was James? As soon as she started looking around in confusion, the sound of clip-clopping drew her attention. Percy Sledge’s, ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’ began to play.

Her heart began to flutter. She gasped and about fainted when she noticed Archer approaching on a huge white horse, its mane and tail wrapped in shiny navy ribbons. The man sat tall and proud in his navy sport jacket and satin blue and ebony full-vested men’s corset, holding the gold reins with sapphires all up and down them. His navy riding boots went up to his knees over fitted navy pants—a majestic sight, a flesh and blood knight. Over his shoulder was a shiny blue and silver bow and arrow. Cameras snapped and the area filled with excited chatter, but he seemed to have eyes only for her. The closer he got, it became apparent his eyes were glossed over and tears threatened to fall.

Two ushers stood on either side of the horse, helped Archer down, and led the magnificent beast out of the room. She clasped her shaking hands together as Archer approached her, his love bathing in the unspent waterworks of his eyes. After placing a single dew-covered white rose in her hair, he went to stand with Irish and his groomsmen.

He said he had a surprise for me… not that he was going to come here like some knight in shining armor and steal the show!

But then she tucked away her mirth and emotions, and concentrated on getting through her vows..

Honey had been a lover of fairy tales since she was a little girl, holed away in her pretty little room in her father’s apartment in Los Angeles. The one thing a good captor does is ensure he knows everything about his captive. He’d gotten his hands on some of her online journal entries on her computer when she was under his thumb in the early days of their meeting. Having her possessions at his disposal revealed a treasure trove of information and secrets. It seemed like such a contradiction that a woman like Honey would be wild about fantastical love stories, especially with her track record of lovin’ ’em and leavin’ ’em, but somewhere deep inside of her, she wanted to be swept away by a big, strong man who would be devoted to her, financially stable, funny, handsome and true. Oh, and fuck her ruthlessly into oblivion…

The common theme was a guy on a horse or motorcycle—she interchanged the two at her whim—who would arrive at her home and take her away. She emphasized she didn’t need rescuing in this same diary, but it felt good to pretend. After Archer had set her free but she didn’t fly away, that memory remained with him, locked in his mind. Now had been the perfect time to release it and put it to good use.
