“Fuck me.” I slammed the bottle down and went into the mayhem outside. It was hard to see because the snow was a solid wall of white. My eyes immediately watered, and my raised hood did nothing to keep out the bite.

There was no one out, except for the few guards ready to sound the alarm on the perimeter if needed. It had happened before, and I hoped it wouldn’t happen again. I made my way down the road and approached her cabin, camouflaged by my cloak and the thick snow that made it impossible to see more than ten feet ahead.

I pulled out the key and got the door unlocked.

She sat against the wall on the bed, her knees to her chest, and she looked at me with eyes that reflected the light just the way animals did in the wild when they saw the glow of my torch. It took less than a heartbeat for her to get out of bed and run to me, like she’d been expecting me this entire time.

I locked the door again and took her by the hand so she wouldn’t get lost.

She stayed right against me, her grip tight.

We made it back to my place, and the wind had picked up so much that I had to use my entire body weight to shut the door again. I thrust my body against it and locked it in place.

The wind howled outside, but inside the cabin, it was silent, just the flames crackling.

I looked out the window, and now it looked as if a blizzard had struck. The storm was worse than I anticipated, and I feared we may have to take cover in the stone keep. It’d be crowded, but everyone could fit.

When I turned to the bed, she was already naked, her clothes on the floor, her tits firm because they were still cold. Bumps were all over her fair skin, and her arms were crossed over her chest, not to cover herself, but to conserve heat.

I met her look, seeing green eyes that were bright like emeralds.

She stared with the same resolve.

I felt a lot of things for her in that moment. Anger was the most prominent.

She crossed the distance between us, and her hands immediately went for my breeches. She tugged the drawstring and got it loose before she unclasped the cloak at my collarbone.

I stood there and watched her undress me.

“Keep me warm.”

“Take a bath.”

“Water doesn’t stay warm. You do.” She crawled into the bed, getting underneath the sheets and blankets, and then looked at me expectantly.

I was hard in my breeches, and I couldn’t hide it. My fucking dick gave me away. I kicked off my boots and dropped my bottoms before I got into bed. Instead of going for the spot beside her, I went on top of her, her thighs already open, her hands already tugging me closer to her.

My arm hooked behind her knee, and my dick moved right to her opening, knowing her body so well that I didn’t have to guide myself to her entrance. My tip leaked at our connection because she was ready for me before I’d even opened the door to her cabin. I tilted my pelvis and slid inside, pushing through her tightness until I was surrounded by her perfect warmth.

She inhaled deeply as her nails dug into the muscles of my arms. “I knew you would come for me…”

With my face above hers, I thrust into her hard. “And I know you’re going to come for me.”

The temperature had dropped so low that I had to keep feeding the fire. If I didn’t, she would start to shiver, even when I had her locked in my arms and against my chest. Instead of taking from our communal stockpile, I’d felled my own tree and harvested the logs. It was a good thing I had because this storm was worse than I’d imagined.

I got the fire as big as I could before I returned to bed.

She grabbed at me the second I was close, wanting me as quickly as possible. Her head moved to my shoulder, and she hugged my waist, her leg tucked between mine, the blankets pulled to her chin.

The wind was so loud it would be impossible to sleep at this point.

“Does this happen a lot?” she whispered.

“Yes.”

“Are they always this bad?”

“No.”

“Is this one of the worst?”

“That remains to be seen.”

She turned into my shoulder and pressed a soft kiss to the muscle.

My fingers automatically moved into the back of her hair, playing with the strands that covered my arm. My eyes were on the fire, making sure it didn’t die or get out of control.

“I hope it lasts a long time.”

I turned back to her.

“Because I get to stay in here with you.” Her eyes were on my chest, as if she was purposely avoiding my gaze.
