“Turn around and lean into me,” he said.

Gracen did, snuggling her back into his chest while one of his hands explored her breasts. When he lowered the showerhead, and the first jet spray hit her closed thighs, she jumped with a little laugh.

“Easy,” she told him. “That might hurt—”

“Do you trust me?” he asked at the shell of her ear.

Then, he kissed behind the same spot.

Gracen opened her legs instead of answering. It took a few tries for Malachi to get the positioning of the shower head just right. Only a couple of inches away from her exposed clit when he used two fingers to spread her labia wide. The water wasn’t too hot, but a bump of his elbow against the handle turned the temperature down a single notch.

“Oh, my God,” Gracen gasped, her body tense and using the steadiness of him behind her to keep her upright the longer the jet spray pulsed against her clit. She even pressed her ass tight into his groin, keeping his cock at least half-mast. Almost ready for one more go. Her voice pitched higher when his teeth found the softness of her throat. “That’s gonna make me come.”

“Yeah?”

Gracen only nodded.

How many times had she stepped inside the shower to do her business but never knew the power of the shower head just a short arm reach away?

Malachi was happy to teach.

“Oh, please ...”

Malachi didn’t know what Gracen was begging for when her body practically crumpled down on itself in the next second. He caught her, even kept her thighs spread wide as she shouted her way into an orgasm that lasted fifteen seconds. He counted.

She trembled until the very end, and looked all too pleased with herself when he finally replaced the shower head up above, and she turned around to snuggle into his chest.

They repositioned themselves out of the shower spray, and he even grabbed her loofah and bar of Ivory soap. She seemed happy to stay like she was, so at her back, he worked the loofah into a soapy ball.

“Didn’t know about that?” he asked.

Gracen shivered while he washed her back. “Nope. You’ve changed my showers forever.”

What could he say to that?

Malachi just laughed.

“Did you find the leather pouch in my bag, babe?” Malachi asked, leaning out of the en-suite bathroom. Only to find Gracen sitting on the edge of her bed still clutching the towel she’d wrapped around herself like a toga before leaving the bathroom. Her gaze lifted at his question, but she didn’t answer him because to her ear she held a phone. “Sorry.”

Gracen waved a hand. A silent no worries.

Her expression did not say the same.

“Are you sure that’s what he meant?” she asked the person on the other line.

Malachi cocked a brow, curious.

Gracen’s attention had gone back to her call, so she didn’t notice his change in expression. “Well, no, but I’m just asking, Delaney. It might have seemed threatening to you because of who it was, but—”

“Who threatened who now?” Malachi asked, no longer willing to stay silent. He tried, but that comment took his patience over the edge.

Her stare jumped to him again, but she only gave a subtle shake of her head in response. That wasn’t good enough for Malachi, but he let it pass while she was still on the phone.

A few seconds passed before Gracen rolled her eyes and said, “Yeah, he came early to surprise me ... okay, sure. I’ll be over in a few minutes, Delaney. Just relax, okay?”

Malachi crossed the bedroom to grab the overnight bag he’d tossed on the corner chair. It took him a quick dig through the folded shirts on the top to find his leather toiletry bag underneath. Keeping one hand on the towel at his waist, he produced the other for Gracen to see who nodded his way. She’d still not ended the call, though.

He didn’t head back for the bathroom.

Something was clearly wrong.

Malachi opted to get himself ready and dressed in clean clothes right there while Gracen finished up her phone call. Once she did get Delaney off the phone, he’d already pulled on everything except a clean shirt and a pair of socks. Barefoot and chested, he waited for her to explain the situation after she tossed the device to the bed.

Instead, Gracen raked her fingers through her wet hair before putting her hands in her head. “I’m gonna head across the bridge and help Delaney and Margot close up early, if that’s okay?”

“Why wouldn’t it be?”

She peered up at him from her hands when he came to stand a foot away from the end of her bed. Her shoulders rose and fell with a heavy breath.

“Did something happen?”

Gracen frowned. “Sort of?”

“Whatever it was, it bothered Delaney?”

At that question, she sighed. “Delaney’s uncle showed up, I guess?”

“You’re asking me?” Malachi questioned with a little laugh.
