“Would we share you at the same time?” Donovan asked.

A thrill of excitement raced through Portia. “Yes,” she whispered. “That is how I see it—one fulfilling my desire while the other holds me close. You take turns adoring me.”

Heat flooded her cheeks at her own audacity, but one look at Donovan’s face confirmed that he shared her fascination.

“An intriguing proposition indeed,” he murmured as he released her hand from his trousers. He moved behind her instead, wrapping his arms around her waist and pressing his body close to hers. He buried his face in her neck, inhaling deeply as he whispered, “Does this fantasy excite you, Lady Portia?”

“Yes.” Her skin tingled where he was touching her, and her heart pounded so hard that she was convinced he could feel it.

“Good,” Donovan murmured. He pulled away from her slightly, just enough to turn her around in his arms so she was facing him. His eyes glowed.

“And what if,” Donovan said, “this fantasy was to become a reality?”

Portia looked up at him, stunned. “Do you mean…”

“I mean exactly what I said,” Donovan said softly. He framed her face in his hands, his thumb stroking softly against her cheek.

Episode Seven

In Which Donovan Asks Lord Jeffries to Join Him in a Tryst with Lady Portia

The following day found Donovan in the company of Lord Jeffries. It was a regular occurrence. The two often shared a drink at the local tavern, laughing and sharing stories of their latest exploits and adventures. But today, Donovan bore an unusual intensity in his eyes.

“Nigel,” Donovan finally said, “I want to discuss something with you.”

Lord Jeffries flickered a curious gaze toward him, sipping on his whiskey. “Go ahead.” He leaned back in his chair.

Donovan drew in a deep breath. “It’s about Lady Portia.”

Lord Jeffries choked on his drink, as if the mention of her name startled him. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. “What about her?”

“I know about your admiration for each other,” Donovan declared, watching his friend’s reaction closely.

Nigel’s eyes widened. He had been careful to hide his feelings about Lady Portia, but it seemed Donovan had seen through his façade. He cleared his throat, trying to maintain his composure. “And what of it?” he asked nonchalantly.

“She has a certain…desire,” Donovan began, choosing his words carefully as he observed Nigel’s reaction. “A desire that involves both you and me.”

Nigel blinked. “I beg your pardon?”

Donovan placed his drink on the table and leaned back in his chair, folding his arms across his chest. “She wishes to be loved, adored by two men who care for her,” he explained, holding Nigel’s gaze. His voice was calm and steady as he continued, “One of those men being you.”

A silence filled the room as Nigel absorbed the revelation. He took a sip of his drink to buy himself some time, allowing the information to settle.

“You’re serious?” he finally managed to ask, staring at Donovan. He saw no jest in his friend’s eyes, but a look filled with absolute seriousness.

“Quite,” Donovan replied. “Lady Portia has been rather candid about it. And I find myself intrigued by the idea.”

Nigel let out a small huff of disbelief mixed with laughter, running a hand through his hair. He knew, of course, that Lady Portia was no ordinary woman. She was bold, outspoken, fiery. But this? It was uncharted territory for all of them.

“And you agree with her desire?” Nigel asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Donovan nodded. “She desires us both, Nigel. And we both desire her.” His gaze hardened slightly. “But she wants more than just a casual dalliance. She wants both of us. Simultaneously. Are you prepared for that?”

Nigel stared at him, his mouth dry. He took a long drink from his glass, the burn of the alcohol grounding him as his thoughts spun. “And if we agree to this,” he said slowly, “how would it work? You can’t be suggesting…”

Donovan held up his hand. “I am suggesting exactly what you think I am,” he said, his voice steady. “We’d need to act with the utmost discretion, of course. But if we approach this intelligently and with consideration for all parties involved…”

Nigel’s mind raced. This was far beyond anything he had ever contemplated. Yet a certain part of him was undeniably intrigued by the prospect, and his heart thumped as he considered it. He looked at Donovan squarely, searching his friend’s face for any sign of hesitation. Finding none, he took a deep breath.

“I admit it is unconventional,” he began. “But you’re right. We both want her and she wants us. If we can manage this with decorum and respect for her wishes, perhaps it would not be so terrible an idea.”

Donovan nodded, a light of satisfaction flashing in his eyes. “Excellent. I did not expect any less from you, Nigel.” He raised his glass in a silent toast, which Nigel returned with a slight hesitation.
