Boring or not, I still wanted to be the one beside her. I shook my head to clear my thoughts and added some cologne, reaching for my suit jacket. I would carry it with me and put it on when I arrived to avoid some wrinkles. I heard my door open and the sound of Sofia’s quiet footfalls. She was getting ready at her place, but it was too early for her to be done.

She walked into the bedroom, wearing a short robe. Her hair was down, a dark wave of silk that tumbled over her shoulders.

She clasped her hands as I turned to face her.

“Put your jacket on,” she murmured.

I did as she requested, pulling down my sleeves.

“My, my, Mr. Vulpe. You are one fine specimen of a man all the time, but in a tux?” She waved her hand in front of her face. “You slay.”

I smiled at her words and moved in front of her. “You are beautiful.”

“I haven’t gotten ready yet.”

“You are still the most beautiful woman in the world.”

She ran her hand up my chest, resting it over my heart. “Thank you.”

“I dislike the fact that I will not be here to watch you leave, so I have asked Samuel to call as he gets close, and he will meet you at the door and walk you to the car.”

“Egan, you are going to worry yourself into an early grave about me. Please relax.”

I lifted her hand and kissed it. “When this is over, I will.”

“Will it be over?”

“Yes. Between Damien and I, we will figure it out.” I pulled her into my arms and kissed her. “I have to go.”

“You need to relax,” she repeated, running her hand down my chest. “I feel your tension.”

“I will later.”

“You’d enjoy your evening better if you were.” She tugged on my cummerbund. “I can help you.”

“Sofia,” I warned, my body beginning to respond to her closeness. It always did. “I’ll be late.”

“Oh.” She pouted and spoke in a hushed whisper. “But I was hoping to persuade you to fuck me in your tux.”

My jaw dropped. “What?”

She leaned up, nibbling on my neck. “Drop your pants and take me hard and fast, Egan. I’m so turned on just looking at you, I’ll come quickly.” She sucked my earlobe into her mouth. “I’ll make sure you do too.”

My cock responded. I shucked off my jacket, tossing it over the chair. Wrinkles seemed unimportant now. So did being late. They could scope out the room first without me.

I carried her to the bed, dropping her onto the mattress. “You better be naked under that robe.”

“Totally.”

I yanked on the sash and tore open the soft material. She was naked. Her nipples were stiff—rose-colored pebbles waiting for my mouth. The way she rubbed her thighs together, I knew she was wet and aching.

She needed my cock to ease that ache.

“This will be fast, Sofia.”

“And hard, Egan,” she replied, lying back, opening her arms and legs wide. “Don’t forget hard.”

I reached for my pants.

“Not a problem.”

I stood at the edge of the room, scanning the large area. It was rapidly filling up, guests, staff, and employees circulating. Trays of champagne were being carried, glasses lifted off by well-dressed invitees. Large centerpieces of flowers perfumed the air, the scent heavy in the room. I recognized a few people, greeting Sofia’s coworkers with a dip of my chin and the occasional handshake. I wasn’t there to mingle, but do a job—as easy as this one was.

Then she walked in, and the room faded away. When she paused in the doorway, our eyes met across the room, and my focus narrowed in. I saw only her. Only her sensual beauty.

She wore a deep green dress that looked stunning against her skin. The skirt ended mid-calf, the luminous material glowing in the lights, the high heels on her feet making her legs seem endless. The bodice dipped low, the swells of her breasts visible. Her long hair was swept up in a knot at the base of her neck, showing off the delicate column of her throat. Wisps hung around her face. She wore more makeup than usual, making her eyes seem larger in her face, her lips glistening and inviting. The shawl she wore slipped, and I spied the slope of her bare shoulder. I knew how that skin tasted under my lips. How soft it was. She was artlessly sexy, while still being elegant and classy.

Despite having had her only a couple of hours ago, I felt my cock stiffen, and I had to turn away, breaking our eye contact. I made another sweep of the room, walking slowly, making my way toward her. I stopped when I reached her side, standing and observing the crowd.

“You take my breath away, iubirea mea. You are beyond exquisite.”
