“Hey, Mom. I’m having a snack with the ladies.”

“I see that.”

Lucy laughs as she refills the bowl of chips. “London, have you met Abby and Erin?”

“I think so. I have to admit, I’m very good with faces and names, but you all are giving even me a run for my money here when it comes to remembering who’s who.”

“We should walk around with a spreadsheet,” Erin replies with a laugh. “There are a lot of us. But, with time, you’ll learn. Don’t worry. Oh, here comes Liv and Vaughn.”

I turn to the door and see a gorgeous brunette and the man who’s starred in all of my sexual fantasies for the past decade.

“Vaughn Barrymore?” I ask, in shock.

The man in question shoots me a sinful smile and walks over to shake my hand. “Guilty. And you are?”

“Shocked.” When everyone laughs, I join them and shake my head. “Excuse me, that was rude. I’m London Ambrose, and this is my son, Caleb.”

“Ah, the famous London and Caleb,” Vaughn says as he reaches out to shake my son’s hand. “We’ve all heard a lot about you.”

“It’s so nice to meet you,” Liv adds. “I hear you’re joining us in Montana?”

I cringe and look down at my son, whose eyes have just grown wide in excitement. I haven’t had the chance to talk to him about that yet.

“We’re going to Montana?”

“Oops,” Liv says. “Sorry.”

“We’re going to talk about this later, buddy, okay?”

“I need to buy skis,” he says, already planning the trip of a lifetime. “And I need a new coat. Mine isn’t warm enough.”

“Caleb.” My voice is firm, making my kid frown, so I sigh and move over next to him and brush my hand over his hair. “Buddy, you can’t go on this one. Your behavior last night was horrible. You haven’t earned a ski trip, and you’re grounded.”

“But you get to go?” he demands.

“Yeah. I get to go because I’m the mom, and I’m not grounded. But you’re going to stay with Caleb’s mom and dad.”

“Jealous,” Lucy announces. “Aunt Brynna and Uncle Caleb are the best. I loved staying at their house the most when I was your age.”

“Why?” Caleb asks, and from the look on his face, I’d say he doesn’t quite believe her.

“First of all,” Abby cuts in, “Brynna makes the best chicken wings ever. She always makes a spread for us.”

“And Uncle Caleb is so chill. He loves to hang with us and play games or watch movies. Sometimes, he’d take us out to the movies.” Lucy nods thoughtfully. “If I had to stay back, that’s where I’d want to stay, hands down.”

“You all can say that because you get to go to Montana,” Caleb sulks.

“Next time,” I say to my son and kiss his head. “Maybe for spring break, we can go to Montana. There might not be skiing, but I’m sure there will be plenty of other things to do.”

“Okay,” Caleb says. “I’m gonna go find the guys and see if they need help lifting something.”

He flexes his little muscles and then hurries off, making us laugh.

“Maybe I should go with him.” Vaughn flexes his own muscles, and this time, my stomach does the cha-cha. “Just in case they need my muscles.”

He follows Caleb, and I can’t help but let out a sigh. “Olivia, I’m totally smitten with Drew, but I’m not above admitting that your husband is just…yum.”

“He’s totally yum,” she agrees with a laugh. “No offense taken. Sorry about the Montana slip.”

“Oh, don’t worry. I just hadn’t had time to mention it to him. But I’m really excited to go with you. Thanks for including me.”

“I’m so excited I might not come back to Seattle,” Erin announces and pops a chip into her mouth.

“Bite your tongue,” Haley advises. “Your parents would kill you.”

“I’m, like, in my mid-twenties. There’s not much they can do. Promise me, if I do stay, you’ll send me my stuff.”

“I don’t want Uncle Will to kill me,” Haley says. “So, I can’t promise to conspire with you on this.”

“You’re Will’s daughter?” I ask, seeing the resemblance. “Yeah, good call, Haley.”

We’re all laughing as the guys rejoin us.

“All of Chelsea’s things are in the dining room slash bedroom,” Liam, who I remember because he flirted shamelessly, says. “The rest is up to Chelsea.”

“It’s a disaster in there,” Caleb says. “It’s way worse than my room.”

“Your room was clean this morning.”

He grins up at me. “You were gone all day.”

“I like this kid,” Liam says and ruffles Caleb’s hair. “Y’all can stick around.”

“Maybe I could go to Montana,” Caleb says hopefully.

“Not a chance, kiddo. You’re in the slammer.”

“If I’d known about the trip, I probably wouldn’t have done what I did last night,” he says thoughtfully. “Maybe.”

“Yep. Totally my kind of kid,” Liam says with a grin.

Chapter 13

Drew

“What’s London up to this evening?” Liam takes a pull off his beer. He picked up our cousin, Hudson, and me and brought us over to Keaton’s garage so we could hang out and watch Keaton work on a new project while we drink beer and shoot the shit.
