It was those women I was thinking about when I walked into the playroom.

His breaths came in slow, rattling gasps as he lay there sprawled across the table bleeding out. His hands were bound with arms open wide. His feet, too.

Holding true to his despicable self, Miguel didn’t plead for help or ask for mercy. Instead, he glared at me with fury in his eyes, showing no remorse for everything he’d done. On more than one occasion, I’d considered putting a bullet in his head, but that would’ve been too easy. He deserved to suffer.

I stood over him and smiled as I asked, “How you making it this morning?”

“You’re going to pay for this.”

“Yeah, you keep saying that.”

I took the blade that was protruding from his gut and gave it a twist. He bellowed in agony, then warned, “They’ll come for you... just wait and see.”

“No one’s coming, Miguel. No one gives a flying fuck if you live or die.”

“Why are you doing this?”

“You know why!” I roared. “You took all those women. You sold them...”

Stitch had warned me not to lose my temper.

That would be giving them the control.

It wasn’t an easy feat, especially when it came to people like Miguel Demarco. After seeing what he and his brother had done, I wanted nothing more than to finish him off once and for all, but I wasn’t going to give into my rage—at least, not yet.

I motioned my head over at Antonio as I snarled, “And then, your brother brought my ol’ lady into the mix. He put her life in danger, and for that, he paid a hefty price.”

Miguel grimaced as he looked over at his brother.

He was hanging with his hands bound over his head by a thick metal chain. His clothes were gone, his body was covered in cuts and bruises, and his throat was slit. That was enough to make a grown man squirm, but seeing his brother’s manhood—or what was left of it, had to be hard to stomach.

I’d torched it, leaving nothing but charred remains of flesh. It was a well-deserved punishment for what that motherfucker had done to all those helpless women. I took another knife and drove the blade into his left testicle, and he bellowed out in agony. “A price you will be paying soon enough.”

I left the blade stuck in the table and started over to the Demarco’s physician. I was about to give him hell when I spotted Savage sitting over in the corner. I was so focused on the task at hand that I hadn’t even noticed him.

He was smoking a cigarette and seemed totally unaffected by the stench and horrid sights before him. Instead, he looked pleased. “I gotta give it to you, brother. You’re a sick motherfucker, but damn. I like it.”

“Glad you approve,” I scoffed.

“I more than approve.” He stood and grabbed a small sledgehammer from the table. He gave it a twirl in his hand as he walked over and offered it to me. “How much longer are you gonna keep this going?”

“As long as I need to.”

“Dad and I went over to have a word with Bruton.”

“And?”

“He’s still working on getting the girls home, but he’s gettin’ it done.”

“Glad to hear it.”

“We also got to check out the shipment he swiped from the Demarcos’ warehouse.” Savage sounded impressed as he announced, “It was quite a take. We should be good for months.”

“Damn. Bruton really pulled through.”

“That he did.” The doctor let out a pained groan, and Savage took it as his cue to leave. “Well, I’ll leave ya to it. I’ll be around if you need me.”

“Appreciate it, brother.”

With that, he walked out of the room.

At the sound of the door closing, the good doctor’s head rolled to the side, revealing his face. He wasn’t looking good. In fact, he looked like shit. Like I’d done with his boss, I’d bound his hands and feet to the table, and he had multiple deep lacerations and broken digits that had to be causing him a great deal of pain. I could barely make out what he was saying as he pleaded, “Please... just end it.”

I took the hammer, then dropped it on the table. I didn’t have the patience for it. A few zealous hits and it would be over for him, which was too good for a piece of shit like him.

I leaned over the table and smiled as I looked down at him. “Not looking so good there, friend.”

He groaned in response, spurring me on.

“Actually, you look like shit, dude, but don’t worry… you’ll look a hell of a lot worse by the time I’m done with you.” I smiled my evilest of smiles as I taunted, “I’m just getting warmed up.”

CHAPTER 24

Mia

We’d been at the club for several days when Wrath came to my room and announced that we could finally go home. I should’ve been thrilled by the news, but I wasn’t. I’d liked being able to spend so much time with him. But then, he hit me with a second announcement.
