I stood there on all fours, my Lycan standing over six-feet, my wolf’s body massive at over two-thousand pounds. Lycan males fully shifted were a terrifying sight. Dangerous creatures. We were one of the strongest species in the Otherworld and were able to destroy anyone and anything that threatened us or ours.

But that’s not what this moment was about.

This moment was about me hunting down my mate and claiming her in the primal, almost ritualistic way that my kind did.

I’d take her on the forest floor, with the wilderness surrounding us, the moon high above, and the only thing that rushed through my veins was to protect, provide, and give her pleasure.

I charged forward, sideswiping trees, my body massive, destroying anything in its path. But I was stealthy, in my element with the wilderness surrounding me. I was focused on only one thing.

And that was following my mate’s scent.

She had a good head start, but she’d never be able to outrun me. I’d find her at the ends of the earth if I had to. There would be nowhere she could hide that I wouldn’t be able to track her down.

Tonight was the beginning of the rest of our lives, when she took my bite, when she took me into her body and fully realized there would never be any chance of going back.

She thought I was possessive now… she hadn’t seen anything yet.

Ainslee was easy enough to find, the sound of her breathing filling my ears, the sight of that white T-shirt a stark contrast to the darkness and the shadows that surrounded us. There were acres upon acres that surrounded the estate, that were our property. She could run and run and still be on our land. It was one of the reasons I purchased this place, but not the only reason. I’d felt this pull, a calling to it. It was very clear my inner Lycan had been pushing me here because my instincts and my wolf knew my mate was near, that this was where I needed to be.

Make her submit. Make her take every single thing we have to give, my Lycan snarled, demanding to be obeyed.

She looked over her shoulder, and a small gasp left her when she saw how close I was, my beast a ferocious, terrifying thing. If I had been in human form, I would’ve grinned in excitement, but instead, a low growl of warning left me. Chase her. Catch her.

Adrenaline rushed through my body, and I moved faster. I’d never felt such anticipation before. She was the first female to see my creature, to see me fully shifted. As it should be. My mate was the only one who had that honor.

That thought had pride swelling inside my body, this knowledge that I had forever with this female—my prize after so long of waiting.

She was worth everything. The longing. The sadness. The pain.

I’d take her virginity and give her mine. We would be one. Forever.

I knew she was going to trip before it happened, and saw the overturned log no more than ten feet from her. But Ainslee kept glancing behind her shoulder, her pupils blown, her cheeks painted pink, her lips parted. I inhaled deeply, smelling her arousal.

The chase turned her on.

I growled again, tipped my head back, and howled at the moon. It was a warning. It was a promise to her.

And just as her foot caught the log, just as she was falling forward, a scream being ripped from her throat, I lunged into the air, shifting back to my human form midflight, and wrapped my arms around her, tucking her body close to me.

I landed on the ground. Hard, the breath leaving me, but the feeling of her body pressed to mine creating a delicious friction and pleasure that replaced that short-winded discomfort. I hummed in pleasure and pulled her tighter against me.

She let out a soft sound of surprise from the impact, or maybe it was the fact that her breasts were pressed tightly to my chest.

And as I stared at her, I grew even more crazed, frantic in my mindless need for my mate.

“Mine.” That lone word rumbled from my chest, and before I knew what I was doing, I dragged a claw down the center of her shirt, mindful of her delicate flesh, and ripped the material away before tearing it fully off her with a savage roar.

Ainslee gasped again, but I scented she’d become wetter. Ahhh, our little mate likes us brutal, my Lycan hummed in pleasure.

I slid my hands down to her hips, unable to stop from touching her. I positioned my mate so she straddled my waist, her lean thighs spread wide over my much wider body.

I was still fully clothed, but my female was completely bare. Seeing my mate like this for the first time, and having an unobstructed scent of the nectar spilling from between her legs, had a brutal sound leaving me.
