“What’re you looking at? She’s the one who fucked up.” I glared at the dog who was now looking at me like I had her hidden or some shit.

He whined and trotted off leaving me alone with a snifter of cognac and my memories.

4

I could still feel her wrapped around me, still had her scent in my nose. It had taken me months to get rid of that shit the first time.

Now all those old memories were coming back. Memories of lazy mornings spent in bed between her thighs.

Long nights spent with her sitting on my face while I ate her out before sitting her on my cock and letting her ride me into the early morning.

Enough of this shit. I headed into my empty bedroom to change. “Maybe a good swim would cool you down. Eighty laps ought to do it.

I headed downstairs to the pool and dove in. I used to have my own heated pool, now I have to share this one with the rest of the residents here.

I could’ve bought another house easy, but didn’t see the point of it. I had no plans on ever getting married again so who needed the headache?

Fuck! I couldn’t out pace her. There wasn’t enough swimming in the world to escape her shit. I dragged myself out of the pool and dried off before heading back upstairs to bed.

My new secretary kept giving me looks when I walked into the office the next morning. I might’ve given her a shot in the beginning I don’t know.

Her signals were hard to miss. When I first hired her I was too busy to give any time or energy to a new conquest.

And after Jillian’s call I now have her back in my damn head and as fucked up as it sounds, it’ll be like cheating on her.

The truth is, no matter how I shy away from it, she’d fucked me over for anyone else. When I do look at another woman these days I find myself comparing them to her.

I miss her smart mouth, the way she used to try conning me with a pouty bottom lip and wet eyes, to get her way.

There were days when she first left that I’d still roll over with a morning hard reaching for her. And quite frankly I’ve never sank my cock into anything that felt as good she did.

I was probably a little gun shy. What if I never find that again? What if she was the one and I’d lost her through no fault of my own?

Because to this day I have no idea who this phantom woman was that I was supposedly cheating on her with and she didn’t seem to either.

If I didn’t know her to be honest to a fault I’d have thought she made the whole thing up. But except for her latest stunt of claiming she was being followed just to get me into her bed, she’s not known to be a liar.

I didn’t like the way my heart raced when I saw her number just as lunchtime came around. Or the way I rushed to answer. “Jakey, what’re you doing?”

I rolled my eyes, something I picked up from her. “What the fuck do you think I’m doing Jillian it’s the middle of the day. Some of us actually work for a living.”

Low blow, I know how she feels about not working though with her moneyed background she doesn’t need to. The one time she tried to intern at her daddy’s company as a teen, she’d been a mess.

She’d probably be able to hold down a job if she didn’t have the attention span of a gnat. “Jakey, I don’t like this new way you have of talking.”

She’d be referring to the fact that I never even cussed in her presence before, or at least I always tried not to in the past.

“You called me remember. Now what is it?”

“Remember that car I thought was following me? It just drove by outside.”

That had me sitting up in my chair and grabbing my jacket from where I’d thrown it over the back of it.

“Stay inside and lock the doors.” I wanted to disbelieve her, but like I said, the one thing she never was is a liar.

My secretary looked at me strangely when I rushed out of the office calling over my shoulder to hold all my calls for the rest of the day.

I didn’t rush but I made good time getting to her. I knew the route like the back of my hand since I’d taken it almost every day for two years.

I kept my eyes peeled for any cars that looked out of place on the way there but I saw nothing on the road. Most people in this neighborhood worked.

She was waiting for me when I pulled up but at least this time she was dressed. “I thought I told you to stay inside.”
