Chapter 15

Willow

“Willow? Are you listening to me?” Anya says, snapping me from my daydream.

I blush, realizing I’ve been thinking about her brother this whole time. “I’m sorry. What did you say?”

“It’s like you’re on another planet. The sex must have been good last night,” Felicity says with a wink.

I shake my head and mumble under my breath. “We didn’t even have sex.” And it’s true.

Last night I had one of the most erotic sexual experiences of my life, and it didn’t even involve the actual act of lovemaking.

That’s crazy, right?

All I know is Brock worked my body over and over, and then he kept my orgasm from me. He said it was to punish me. However, after last night I don’t feel very punished at all.

When I woke up this morning, Brock was gone. It’s not like he slipped out of our room to get away from me, or anything. I know the guys had an early tee time to play golf.

Now I’m sitting down at breakfast with the ladies, and we’re scheduling out our day.

“Well, whatever happened between you two love birds must have been wild,” Hartford says with a big grin. “I’m so happy for you. I know you always said Lake wasn’t great in the bedroom.”

I blush. “He was just okay. I feel bad talking about him. I think it was just a chemistry thing.”

“But you and Brock have it?” Clara asks.

I nod with a small giggle. “Definitely.”

Clara reaches across the table, placing her hand over mine. “That’s how you know he’s the one.”

My eyes widen. “The one?”

“Maybe by this time next year we’ll be back for your wedding,” Anya says with a laugh.

“We just got together. This is all moving a bit too fast.” I wish I could tell the ladies the truth. That Brock and I are only enjoying ourselves while we’re in Vegas. But I don’t want to share that secret.

I want to keep it all to myself. Just like I want to keep Brock all to myself. I know today we’re supposed to be doing things to prepare for the wedding, but all I can think about is staying holed up in my hotel room all day with Brock.

“We’ll meet at the pool in an hour,” Felicity says, rising from her chair. “I need to feed the baby.”

Anya fusses over the baby before Felicity walks away. “I’m so happy Shepherd and Felicity were still able to come to Vegas. I know a new baby changes everything.”

“It was so nice of Felicity’s mother to offer to babysit so they could hang out with us,” Hartford adds. “Can I tell you all a secret?”

“Oh my god, are you pregnant?” Anya’s eyes are huge.

Hartford laughs. “No, not yet. But Paxton and I want to start trying as soon as we’re married.”

“Aww,” I say, loving that. All my besties are growing up so quickly.

“Griffin and I were talking last night about getting married. He told me he’s wanted to marry me since he first realized he was attracted to me. Like when he first got home from culinary school. I never even knew he had a crush on me for all that time.” Anya’s eyes glisten with unshed tears.

“I love him for you,” I tell her. “I think he would make a great husband.”

“Me too,” Emma says. “I know I only just met you and him, but you two really are perfect for one another.”

“Thank you,” Anya says, wiping away tears. “I never thought I’d ever fall for somebody so hard. Like it’s just like we click.”

I nod, knowing exactly what she means about clicking with someone. Last night with Brock, I felt like everything had finally clicked into place between us.

Who knows, maybe the reason we fought so much growing up was this energy between us that couldn't be contained. And now that we’re in each other’s orbit, it’s working for us.

However, I still like pushing his buttons. Especially like last night. I loved how he punished me. It was fun.

And it wasn’t like we sat down and planned how we were going to spice things up in the bedroom. It just happened.

Like we could read each other’s mind.

That’s silly, I know, but something’s happening here. I can’t get my mind off Brock.

“You look like you’re really thinking hard there, Willow,” Clara points out.

“I think I have a crush on my boyfriend,” I tell everyone at the table.

“Those are always the best crushes,” Shayne adds. “When Damien and I first got together I couldn't take my eyes off him. I was deliriously happy, and felt butterflies every time I laid eyes on him.”

I nod. “That’s how I feel.”

“I still feel that way with Ben,” Clara adds. “Like when he walks into a room my eyes light up.”

“Your whole face lights up,” Emma says. “And so does he. Ben loves you so much.”
