“Yeah, right.” She laughs. “Have you seen what you look like without a shirt?”

“Have you seen what you look like in a bra?”

“I have mirrors.” She runs a finger down her chest until it’s resting on the pink bow on the front of her bra between her luscious breasts. “I know how nice these are.”

“Nice?” I kiss the spot right above her finger. “Try beautiful.”

“The ice cream is melting,” she reminds me.

“I’m on it.” I leave her sitting there while I get to work in my kitchen, thinking the entire time that I have to be the luckiest man in this city tonight.

I slam the book shut and look to where Delia is sitting on a cushioned window seat. We’re in the back sunroom that until now I’ve rarely used. It was her idea to come in here after we had dinner.

She asked if I had any outdoor space, and I do. This townhouse came complete with a very small garden. Since I don’t have a green thumb, I hired a neighbor to take care of the patch of lawn and various potted flowers. It’s her passion project she tells me so she takes little pay, but loads of fresh flowers in exchange for her labor.

“What did I just read to you, Delia?”

Her eyebrows pop up. “A few pages of Phantom’s Escape.”

“What pages?” I question more, keeping a smile at bay, for now.

“You didn’t tell me I’d be quizzed on it.” That leaves her lips before she steals another glance at the garden and the small white lights that are hanging from two shrubs.

“We can sit out there,” I offer. “It’s a little noisy at this time of day, but it’s not bad.”

“You read page sixty-two through sixty-eight.” She tosses me a sly smile. “You stopped just short of sixty-nine.”

I’m impressed since I didn’t tell her what any of the page numbers were before or after I read it to her.

“Sixty-nine,” I repeat that. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

“I’m thinking that you’re an incredible lover,” she whispers. “I’m sure indulging in a little sixty-nine fun with you would be the perfect end to this day.”

I’d love to devour her pussy while she sucks my cock but the truth is that when she has her lips wrapped around my dick I can’t focus on anything but that. I’m game to try though.

She slides off the window seat to approach where I’m sitting in a gray armchair. Her sweater is still on the floor in my kitchen. My T-shirt is right next to it.

As soon as she’s within touching distance I loop a finger under the front of the center of her bra and tug her closer. I don’t go to the trouble of removing it before I latch my teeth around her right nipple through the silk.

“Ohh,” she drawls. “That’s so sensitive.”

I suck it before I nip at it again. “How’s that?”

Stepping into the spot between my legs, she tangles her hands in my hair. “I think I need to feel that again and again before I can officially tell you how much I love it.”

I’ll give her anything she wants so I lower my mouth to her breast, slide the fabric aside and take her perfectly plump nipple between my lips.

CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

Delia

I walk into Wolf Candy and I’m greeted with a much better treat than the very best chocolate bars in the city.

“Auntie Delia!” My niece, Georgie, comes racing toward me.

Hot on her heels is her twin sister, Dora.

The girls are seven years old and big sisters to Penn Hawthorne. My nephew is almost six months old now but he’s nowhere to be seen.

His father is, though. Dressed as he often is in a three-piece suit complete with a stylish tie, my brother Roman, looks in my direction.

To most people, he’s the spitting image of Matthew, but I’ve always been able to tell them apart with ease.

“If it isn’t my long lost sister,” Roman quips. “Nice of you to stop by our apartment, Delia.”

I laugh that off.

I’ve spent the past few weeks spending a hell of a lot of time with Donovan. We finished reading Phantom’s Escape to each other, we’ve enjoyed some great meals that we cooked together and we’ve had loads of sex.

I’ve lost track of how many nights I’ve slept in his bed.

My life hasn’t been this perfect ever, but I know that I can’t hide whatever is happening between Donovan and me forever. We haven’t discussed what that is. Instead, we’ve been focused mostly on food and fun.

“I hear ya,” Nikita chimes in from behind the counter. “I’ve barely seen her either.”

“I’ve been helping out here quite a bit,” I point out because I have.

That hasn’t meant that I’ve had a lot of time to spend talking with my best friend, but we have managed to have a few good conversations. Most of those have been about new products that she’s considering launching.
