Cash got out of the car, slamming the door behind him. His desire to be rid of this case reached new levels.

=♥=

Whatever freaky feeling Dev had at finding all that money was taken care of by the warmth of the bright sunny skies and the cool gentle breeze blowing in from the north. He had no idea of the weather forecast, but hoped it stayed just like this for the next few days. At least until they could get these bikers back on their way home again. Then winter could take hold and beat the fuck out of them again.

As awful as he knew it was, he was happy his old man wasn’t around to experience this nice day. He’d have gone riding with that slut Dixie on the back.

“Dev,” Shanna said. He’d opted to leave the cell phone on the hood of the truck in speaker mode rather than continue to talk seriously over anything.

Since he had solved this case, he’d have expected Cash to be a little more pleased.

Yes, technically his pretty boy didn’t know what was coming at him, but still.

Dev crossed his arms over his chest just so he could wave a hand in the air to drive his point home to nobody, because he was completely alone.

“What?” he finally barked with an attitude that he didn’t really feel.

He crossed his arms tighter over his chest as he lounged against the truck and closed his eyes, tilting his face more fully to the sun.

“We need the code,” Cash barked. “Did you not hear her?”

He grinned, loving how effortlessly he got underneath his lover’s skin.

“My bad. It’s 6-6-6 pound. That’s the hashtag sign.” He had to cover his mouth to hold back the laughter bubbling inside. Explaining the hashtag sign, how hilarious.

“Stop being a douche and tell us how to get in,” Shanna said, her disgust clear.

Okay, now karma was just giving him a good time. He loved getting to explain the directions in simple terms. “Type the numbers six then another six then another six into the keypad then hit the pound sign. It’s the hashtag sign or the number sign, whichever you know it by.”

He heard nothing back until the gate churned open. “Now come find me.”

He waited. Not opening his eyes or moving a single inch as the sounds of Cash’s fancy sports car pulled right in front of the truck. He stayed put, not wanting to let go of the peace in his heart. Cash usually brought on all these easygoing feelings, but he suspected he was going to stay in trouble with his agent until they went inside the unit. He and Cash were both fundamentally tense people. It had been a couple of days since they’d had sex and as far as he was concerned, they could make love all night long, seven days a week and it still wouldn’t be enough.

The car door creaked almost silently open then slammed shut. He suspected that was the passenger side door. “You’ve got about two seconds to explain yourself before I arrest you,” Cash said. Dev opened his eyes and turned his head to meet Cash’s gaze.

That line between the agent’s brows was solid and pronounced. Yeah, Cash was pissed off.

“You aren’t gonna arrest me. We both know that,” Dev mocked and made a show of rolling his eyes then closing them again, tilting his face back to the sun.

Seconds faded away until he heard the sounds of metal clinking against metal. He still stood there. Based on the scent of Cash’s sexy cologne, or the crazy connection they shared, the pretty boy was now standing directly in front of Dev.

Man, he wished Cash would reach out and touch him. Promise to never be angry again.

Or maybe touch him and promise a swift punishment this evening after the girls went to sleep.

Or hell, punish him right here, right now.

Did he have lube in his wallet? If he had his bike, he’d have lube handy.

Shanna’s presence instantly came to mind, ruining his potentially good time. He loved to have his air cut off, restricted during sex. Fuck, it turned him on…. Stop.

Goddamn government.

Dev cracked his right eyelid open. His handsome honey stood before him with a pair of handcuffs dangling high enough for him to see. He closed his eye again.

His tough guy was posturing his authority.

Since they were both determined to outdo each other in this game they played, Dev made a show of turning, giving Cash his backside. He put his hands behind his back, his wrists crisscrossed.

What shocked the shit out of him was when the handcuffs locked in place around his wrists. His eyes popped open as he glanced over his shoulder, glaring back at Cash. He yanked his wrists apart, really expecting the handcuffs to be the breakaway kind. They weren’t.
