He shook his head. “Not a chance, panda girl. You worked a lot of hours on that, and you’re an amazing artist. You deserve every penny.”
“Don’t be silly, Daddy.” She cupped his face with both hands and kissed him.
He narrowed his gaze, giving her a serious look. “Thank you for letting me see all your artwork this morning, panda mine. I can’t believe how many different designs you have ready for just the right customer in that studio apartment. No wonder you didn’t want me to come inside when we first started dating. I can’t imagine how you hid all of that under your bed,” he teased.
“I enjoy working on my art. It’s comforting to me.”
“Why do you work so many jobs, Little panda? Surely you could make enough money selling your art to live off of.”
She dragged her finger along his biceps, staring at the muscle instead of his face as she shrugged. “I work at Blaze because I love it. Seeing all the members and talking to them helps me feel like I belong. I work at Little Cakes because that income is guaranteed. It keeps me from worrying about how I can pay the rent. The money I make from selling my tattoo designs is a bonus. I’ve been saving it up.”
He lifted her chin. “Are you saving it for anything particular, panda?”
She nodded.
He chuckled. “Are you going to tell Daddy what it’s for?”
She licked her lips, uncertain if she wanted to tell him. But she needed to stop keeping secrets from Milo if he was truly going to be her Daddy. “You’ll think I’m silly and extravagant,” she warned.
He hugged her closer. “Nothing you do could ever be silly or extravagant to me, panda.”
She took a deep breath. “I thought maybe someday I could afford to have an office space. Nothing fancy or anything, but a place where I could work that wasn’t also the place I sleep.” She rolled her eyes. “See, I told you it was silly.”
He gave her a squeeze. “That’s not silly at all, panda mine.”
She shrugged. “Well, it doesn’t matter. It will take me years to save up for something like that. It’s very extravagant.”
He held her gaze for a long time, so long that she fidgeted in his arms. “What if you could have that space starting right now, panda bear?”
She flinched, eyes going wide. “I can’t afford it, Daddy.”
“Sure you can. You’re already paying for it. If you weren’t using your studio apartment as a home and we removed all the extra furniture, you could use it as an office and nothing else.”
She frowned at him, confused. “Where would I sleep?”
He lowered his face so that he was looking at her square in the eyes. “My place, Riley. Always. You can move in with me and use your studio for an actual studio. Say yes.”
She gasped. Her head was spinning. “You want me to move in with you?”
“More than anything in the world.”
“But we haven’t been dating that long, Milo.”
“I’ve known I wanted to make you mine for a long time, and I’ve been convinced you were indeed my Little girl from the moment I stepped into Little Cakes and caught you staring at me that first day.”
Her heart was beating faster with each passing second.
He kept talking. “I want you in my house every day. Every night. Every morning. I want to be your Daddy all the time. I want to make sure you eat enough and sleep at night. I want to hold you, rock you, and feed you. I want to give you the space you need to refuel and make sure you always take the time to do so.”
He brought his face closer to hers. “I want to be your lover. I want you to sleep in my bed. I want to be able to reach out in the night and pull you into my arms.”
She stared at him, her mind racing. She couldn’t think of a single hole in his plan. She knew deep down he was her Daddy and she loved him. “Okay, Daddy.”
His eyes shot wide and a huge grin spread across his face. “Yes?”
She nodded, giggling. “I’d really like that, Daddy. I love you.”
“I love you too, Riley. So very much.” He kissed her, not on the lips but all over her face.
She giggled harder, squirming to get out of his embrace.
He frowned when she took a step back.
“Stop touching me, Daddy, or we’ll end up having sex right here on the floor. We’re not even in a bathroom right now.”
He chuckled.
“We came here to practice suspension, and that’s what we’re going to do.” She was more determined than ever because she wanted to show her Daddy that she trusted him to wrap her up in his artistic designs without panicking.
She knew she could do it. She wasn’t scared anymore. Daddy had chased away all her fears with his gentle caring and love.
