“A blanket?” Gemma asked.
“A favorite of many. Being wrapped and protected in a blanket allows the sub to love the comfort of warmth but also allows some privacy and dampening of sensations. What else?”
“Treating…” Nicoya hesitated, “booboos?”
“Of course. There are first aid kits scattered around the club. Sometimes, there’s nothing that requires a bandage or cream, but a favorite lotion might feel good on skin rubbed by restraints,” Hunter suggested.
“Do people make aftercare bags?” Aria asked. “You know, like play bags?”
“Yes. Things needed for aftercare will change, so swap things out as you experiment with new things. If you’re interested in fire play, talk to Blaze’s fire-play expert. She can suggest some items to include. The same with Shibari; Milo probably has two things he never leaves home without,” Hunter clarified.
“It’s okay to ask questions?” Nora asked.
“Not during a scene, but after the Dom has provided aftercare or they’ve turned the submissive over to their chosen caregiver, definitely see if they are open to sharing information,” Hunter answered.
There was a pause in the discussion. Nicoya decided to speak up. “I like doing fun things. Can that be aftercare?”
“Of course. Stepping away from something intense to giggle and play are just what some people like.” Hunter reached into a pocket. He donned a pair of plastic, fake glasses equipped with a mustache. Everyone laughed and smiled.
He’s a good Daddy, Nicoya thought. That didn’t surprise her.
Hunter moved the glasses up to sit on the top of his head. Nicoya smothered another round of merriment at the sight of the mustache resting at the top of his forehead.
“Do you have a Groucho Marx fetish I need to know about, Little girl?” Axel whispered into her ear.
Nicoya buried her face into his shoulder to smother her laughter. “You’re so bad.”
“I love hearing the laughter. There are a lot of things that can go wrong in a scene. The ability to laugh about it afterward takes the pressure down,” Hunter suggested.
“I like to make plans for next time—to find out what Gemma liked and didn’t,” Anton spoke up.
“Smart. For some, it’s best to talk immediately. For others, giving everyone a chance to reflect helps. The optimal time is when each person is open to listening and understanding,” Hunter shared before waving a hand around the room. “There are different areas set up around the room. Feel free to explore new things and ask questions.”
As people started to move, Axel boosted Nicoya onto her feet. They headed toward one dark corner where several blankets were arranged on a sofa. Each had a tag on it.
“Oh, these are weighted blankets. We were discussing these in the daycare. Some people really like them,” Nicoya said, hefting one corner.
“Wrap up in each one,” Hunter said from behind them. “People like different weights or not at all.”
“Can I try with you, Nicoya?” Aria asked, coming up beside her.
Immediately, it became more fun. “Let’s see what we like,” Nicoya said, choosing the middle heaviest. Lifting the material, she automatically looked back at Axel when the heft surprised her.
“Sit down and try it out,” her Daddy suggested, lifting it from her hands and gesturing to the sofa.
When she was seated, he draped the fabric over her. “Ugh. This feels like someone is sitting on me.”
Axel immediately removed it for her.
“Let us try that one,” Cameron said, taking the blanket as Gemma sat down.
Nicoya watched Aria’s eyes close as she stilled on the couch. “That’s good, huh?” she asked her friend.
“I want to try the heavier one,” Aria said, lifting the cover up for her Daddy to remove.
“Try this lightest one, Nicoya,” Axel suggested.
Once in position, Nicoya contemplated for a while. “I don’t think this is for me,” she admitted.
“We’ll check that off our list and try another area,” Axel told her with a smile.
Nicoya waved goodbye to Cameron, not wanting to bother her friend who had her eyes closed. Aria had curled into a ball on the couch with the blanket tucked around her. Her face looked so peaceful.
“How long do you think it will take Cameron to order a blanket?” she asked Axel as they moved over to an area with one of the videogame machines that sensed your movements. It wasn’t a normal thing at the club but someone had brought it in to give a fun option.
“The minute they get home,” Axel told her.
“I’m sorry I didn’t like them,” Nicoya said hesitantly.
“Don’t be. That’s what the evening is for. To try all the things. We may not find anything that we like better than what we already do. Now, do you know how to do this?” he asked, gesturing at the controls.
Grinning at him, Nicoya nodded. “I am the master. Prepare to go down.”
“Those are challenging words, Little girl. Let’s see if you can back those up.”
A few minutes later, Nicoya tried to control her triumphant expression as he looked at the controller in his hand.
