Avery turned toward her. “Rose says he worries all the time about dental bills when she chews gum all day or goes to sleep with it.”
CC groaned. “Good point. Maybe Tom, then. He grows vegetables.”
Avery giggled again. “I bet he’s just as bad. Probably always nagging her to eat her broccoli and carrots.”
CC nodded. “Good point. How about Kiki’s Daddy? Terry works from home most of the time. He’s chill.”
“Except he works for the government, so he’s a stickler for rules same as my Daddy.”
CC sighed. “I guess we all have to deal with something.”
Suddenly a hand landed on the back of her neck, and she stopped walking to look over her shoulder. She knew the hand belonged to her Daddy, Hunter. “Maybe you girls should be grateful that you have such amazing, loving Daddies who like to make sure you’re safe and healthy, huh?”
“Yes, Sir,” CC muttered.
She winced when she heard him turn toward Trace and say, “Maybe we should just spank all of them before the party starts and get it out of the way.”
Trace snickered. “It’s not a bad idea.”
“Daddy…” Avery whined. “Don’t be ridiculous. We’re all going to be perfect angels, which is why you don’t need to stay and monitor us. Maybe you could all sit on the benches in the mall instead of joining us inside Stuff-It?”
“Speaking of sitting…” Hunter added as he released CC’s neck to give her bottom a swat.
“Owie.” CC rubbed her butt. He hadn’t swatted her hard enough to sting, but she was solidly in Little space already, so she was feeling a bit dramatic.
When they finally reached the entrance to Stuff-It, she turned to give her Daddy a kiss, hoping he would take the hint and give them some space.
Hunter accepted the kiss, but he still followed her into Stuff-It through the narrow opening Rose had left in the gate. She had apparently pulled the outer gate almost shut, leaving just enough space for everyone to get inside.
CC and Avery were the last to arrive. The other five women were already standing in a tight circle, hugging each other.
Emotions welled up in CC as she joined the group hug. There was nothing better than belonging to a community of like-minded people. She might joke around about trying to get Hunter and the other Daddies to give them some space, but deep down CC loved that her Daddy was so doting and attentive.
She liked knowing that he would be close by if she needed him. If anyone got sick or hurt, he would fix them. There were bound to be some upset tummies tonight, depending on how many cupcakes they ate. CC knew her Daddy would have medicine on hand to soothe their stomachs before they went home.
When she looked around, she was relieved to see that she wasn’t the only one who hadn’t been able to talk her Daddy into dropping her off. At least she wouldn’t be the only Little girl who had intense supervision. All seven Daddies were present.
Not surprising. They were all overbearing, doting types, and they enjoyed each other’s company as much as the Littles. They were all grinning as they greeted each other.
It was going to be the best night ever.
Chapter Four
Kiki
“I’m so excited we were all able to come tonight. We’re going to have the best time ever!” Kiki exclaimed as they all jumped up and down.
“What should we do first?” Rose asked. “Make stuffies? Eat cupcakes?”
Kiki glanced at the Daddies who appeared to be deep in conversation and not paying attention to the Littles. When she was certain she was right, she turned to the others. “Shots?”
Everyone’s eyes widened. “Did you sneak in a flask?” Elizabeth asked.
Kiki wiggled her brows. “Of course.”
Two hands landed on her shoulders as Terry cleared his throat. “How about if I hold on to your purse for you, Bumblebee.” He took her heavy, oversized bag from her shoulder and walked away.
Kiki sighed. “Darn. I think he has superhuman hearing.”
Valerie giggled. “I bet we can get just as obnoxious if we eat enough sugar than if we did shots.”
She was right, but still… Kiki shot a glare to the back of Terry’s head. Why did her Daddy have to be such a party pooper?
“Let’s make stuffies,” Rose exclaimed. “I left the stuffing machine on when I closed.”
“Do you happen to have any alligators?” Kiki asked. “Spike could use a girlfriend.” She liked to threaten her Daddy with the wrath of Spike the alligator, warning him that if he was a meanie, Spike might bite him in the night. If she had two alligators, she would be doubly protected from intruders and meanies.
“I do.” Rose nodded.
“Do you have any of the new hippos?” Avery asked. “I’ve been dying to get one ever since they came out.”
“Yep.” Rose rushed over to the bins of stuffed animal carcasses. “Everyone come pick one out. We can take turns stuffing them and putting a heart in them. And then we do the best part—pick out clothes and accessories.”
