Rose sighed. “If only we never had to sleep, and we could stay up all night playing when we weren’t at work.”
Elizabeth groaned. “Yeah, that would be nice.”
“But we have tonight,” Rose said cheerfully. “We’re just getting started. We’re going to have the best time ever.” She held up a panda. “I’ve been eyeing this guy ever since we got this batch in a few months ago. I think he’s finally going to get a new home tonight. Won’t he look cute next to my beagle?”
“Adorable,” Elizabeth agreed. “Since they’re both black and white, they might even try to pretend to be twins and trick you.” She giggled.
When she glanced at the Daddies, she noticed they were finished with the recordings. They each held a heart in their hands.
Surely Tom would say something sweet and kind. It was hard to imagine him recording something about spanking or naughty Littles. But it was hard to know for sure. After all, when seven Daddies got together, anything was possible. They might have conspired to trick all the Littles.
She leaned in closer to Rose and whispered, “What do you think the Daddies recorded?”
Rose shrugged. “I don’t know. Hard to say. I can’t read Adam’s face at all. Could be anything.”
Elizabeth sighed. All they could do was wait and find out.
Chapter Six
Valerie
Suddenly Rose reached around in front of Valerie and held out the cutest stuffie Valerie had ever seen. It was a cupcake! With arms and legs. It was every color of the rainbow just like the sprinkles Ellie often spilled all over the place.
Everyone gasped.
“Oh, my goodness!” Valerie shouted as she reached out and snagged the cupcake stuffie out of Rose’s hand. “I’ve never seen anything like this.”
“I just got them in. Isn’t he adorable?” Rose beamed.
Valerie pulled the carcass to her chest and hugged it. Even without stuffing, she already knew it was hers. She started petting the limp cupcake as she stared at his cuteness.
“Stuffing,” Rose shouted.
As everyone hurried over to the fluff machine, Valerie hung back for a moment.
Grayson came to her and tipped her chin back. “You okay, Cupcake?”
She nodded and held out the empty stuffie. “Isn’t he adorable?”
“He sure is. Are you okay, Cupcake?” he repeated.
Valerie smiled at him. “Yes. Just feeling nostalgic. This is so much fun. I haven’t had a new stuffie in a while, and I can’t believe Rose has cupcake stuffies.”
Grayson pulled her into his arms and kissed the top of her head, smashing the stuffie between them. “You haven’t been out with your friends for a while either. I want you to have fun tonight.”
She tipped her head back and smiled. “I am, Daddy.”
He grinned. “Better get some filling in that little dude. He’s pitiful without it.”
She giggled as she held him up. “I don’t think he can wear clothes. Maybe shoes. Silly clunky ones. And a headset. I bet he listens to music.”
“That sounds about right.” He kissed her nose and turned her toward her friends.
Valerie joined them. They were all laughing, and stuffie fluff was flying up all over the room. Normally, when the mall was open and regular customers were filling their new stuffed friends, Rose was careful to keep the cotton inside the machine. But tonight she wasn’t even trying.
By the time all of them had stuffed their new stuffies, fluff was flying through the air, stuck in everyone’s hair, and settling all over the floor.
Valerie was a bit concerned about what the Daddies would do, but every time she glanced at them she found them smirking and shaking their heads. They didn’t try to stop the silliness, though she suspected when this was all over, seven Little girls were going to end up on their hands and knees cleaning up this colossal mess.
“Time for hearts,” Rose exclaimed.
Valerie followed the others as each Little went to her own Daddy so he could put the pre-programmed heart inside the stuffie before they closed them up.
Valerie was beyond curious to know what her Daddy had said in his recording. She didn’t ask, though, and no one dared squeeze the little heart to find out. Especially not after the Daddies gave them a stern warning that any Little girl who listened to her message before the end of the night would find herself over her Daddy’s knees with a very sore bottom.
Sore bottoms were not usually a strong enough deterrent, and the Daddies knew it, so they included another rule. In addition to the firm spanking, said Little would not get to eat cupcakes. That was a strong deterrent.
“Clothes!” Rose shouted.
Valerie giggled as seven women who were laughing and making more noise than any seven young people could possibly make raced over to the clothing section.
Valerie went straight for the shoes, where she chose a pair of white tennis shoes. She found a tiny cell phone with a headset next. She used the elastic band to hold the cell phone to her cupcake’s hand and hooked the headset over his ears.
